Job Description

Team: Others

This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Quality Engineer in United States.
This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly skilled Quality Engineering professional to shape and elevate software quality practices across the organization. The Senior Quality Engineer will lead initiatives that embed clarity, testability, and shared understanding into the earliest stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, while remaining hands-on with automation and validation efforts. You will drive behavioral change, coach cross-functional teams, and contribute to scalable API and UI test strategies. Working in a collaborative, innovation-focused environment, you will influence product quality, automation excellence, and traceability standards. The position balances practice leadership with technical execution, allowing you to make a direct impact on software quality and organizational maturity. This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys mentoring, systems thinking, and applying modern quality engineering methodologies at scale.

Accountabilities:

  • Lead and facilitate structured requirements practices such as Definition of Ready (DoR), Example Mapping, and Specification by Example to reduce ambiguity and improve clarity across teams.
  • Coach product managers, engineers, and other quality engineers on behavior-focused acceptance criteria and spec-driven development (SSD) practices.
  • Embed quality and testability into the earliest stages of the Software Development Lifecycle, influencing backlog refinement and sprint planning.
  • Translate structured specifications into robust, scalable automated validation artifacts for both API and UI testing.
  • Contribute to test architecture, framework evolution, and automation best practices, ensuring maintainable, parallelizable, and deterministic tests.
  • Maintain requirements-to-test traceability and collaborate on CI/CD quality gates and validation pipelines.
  • Scale best practices across teams using a teach-the-teachers approach, improving organizational maturity in quality and automation.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams including Engineering, Product, Technical Program Management, and Customer Success to align on clarity, reporting, and traceability improvements.
  • Requirements:
  • 6+ years of progressive experience in Quality Engineering roles, with demonstrated technical and leadership contributions.
  • Proven experience facilitating structured requirements and test practices such as DoR, Example Mapping, BDD, or Specification by Example.
  • Strong expertise in API testing (REST, contract validation, schema enforcement) and proficiency in UI automation disciplines.
  • Experience contributing to test framework architecture, shared utilities, or CI/CD validation workflows.
  • Ability to maintain and enforce requirements-to-test traceability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong coaching and facilitation experience.
  • Ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority and drive adoption of best practices.
  • Systems-thinking mindset and history of progressively expanded responsibility in quality engineering.
  • Competencies in automation strategy, structured requirements facilitation, CI/CD quality gates, and deterministic test design.
  • Benefits:
  • Competitive salary and equity based on role and experience
  • Flexible work-from-home and remote options, with hybrid opportunities and optional office access
  • Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision insurance with 100% paid premiums
  • Flexible paid time off and parental leave programs
  • Lifestyle stipend supporting physical, emotional, and financial well-being
  • Inclusive culture with employee-led diversity, equity, and inclusion initiatives
  • Recognition in awards such as Best Place for Working Parents, Great Place to Work Certified, and Fortune’s Best Workplaces in Texas and Financial Services
  • Opportunities for professional growth, mentorship, and contribution to innovative software quality practices
