We are on the hunt for a Vulnerability Management Engineer who is a Qualys Subject Matter Expert (SME). This role will partner with Client IT/Operations teams to implement and update vulnerability managements solutions; provide technical and subject matter expertise and guidance on Qualys products; and will execute or support the execution of vulnerability remediation through deployment of patches, implementation of security configurations, or deployment of mitigating controls.

Role Description: Review the implementation of client’s Qualys Platform, with an emphasis on Qualys Policy Compliance, and to develop an assessment and roadmap that will help outline the details and recommendations to mature the Qualys environment as well as maximizing the use of the solution.

Requirements:  

  • 4+ years hands-on experience with Qualys Vulnerability Management platform performing scanning, report generation, and data analysis
  • Experience/familiarity with Qualys Policy Compliance and setting up secure baseline configurations utilizing an industry framework (ex: DISA STIG, CIS benchmark, etc.) to assess the security posture of the client’s environment
  • Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards (e.g., NIST, CIS, ISO 27001)
  • Overall experience with vulnerability remediation processes, including risk prioritization, change management, analysis, and triage
  • Understanding of networking technologies and concepts (routing, switching, network segmentation, etc.)
  • Demonstrated ability to write business and technical reports and to participate in presentations to present research/findings to the team and/or client
  • Ability to be self-motivated and demonstrate excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
  •  Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Works well under pressure, can meet tight deadlines, and is committed to work as and when required to complete projects
