Department Overview:

The Relationship Management Group (RMG) serves as the centralized point of contact for current and prospective third-party asset managers at Morgan Stanley Wealth Management (MSWM). RMG is dedicated to developing, strengthening, and broadening distribution partnerships to uncover product and professional training solutions for Financial Advisors and clients. The team manages strategic partnerships with internal businesses and external asset manager firms and seeks to enhance sales and revenue opportunities by educating partners on how to align their efforts and activities with MSWM goals and initiatives.

Duties and Responsibilities:

The Senior Relationship Manager will be responsible for developing and broadening distribution partnerships with asset manager firms and leveraging their strategies and educational services across Morgan Stanley Wealth Management. The candidate will interface with MSWM leadership and National Account, Distribution, and Product professionals to drive results.

The candidate will be tasked with:

• Manage approximately 80 external asset manager relationship

• Develop and maintain top partner firm Business Plans and Executive Summary report

• Conduct, drive, and track strategic business planning initiatives between MSWM and external partner firm

• Understand MS business goals and initiatives and provide direction and updates to external partners (including their internal and external sales teams) on how to effectively collaborate with MSWM

• Coordinate product on-boarding for the Advisory and Brokerage platform

• Collaborate on group and enterprise project

• Solicit feedback and collaborate on developing ideas, including partner involvement and participation in MSWM driven events/ meeting

• Provide and enforce sales and marketing policies and procedure

• Manage one or more internal Investment Solutions business relationships, such as WM Global Investment Office, Business Development and Field Training, Consulting Group, or Digital Direct, to understand key initiatives, procedures, and best practices to help optimize the distinct business' goals by leveraging external partner

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree with emphasis on marketing, communications, finance or equivalent experience

• 5+ years of Wealth Management and/ or Asset Management experience

• Series 7, 63, 65 or 66 preferred. Series 7 completion will be required

• The successful candidate will demonstrate high personal initiative, the ability to work independently and be a strong team player

• Client service focused with ability to think strategically and develop innovative ways to optimize partners sales, marketing and training

• Detail oriented and highly organized with ability to manage multiple projects in a fast paced environment

• Effective communication and presentation skills to drive result

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $100,000 and $180,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
