Primary Responsibilities:
As a Senior Reliability Engineer for the Classic refrigeration line, you are responsible for defining and driving design assurance and reliability requirements to ensure our products meet customer expectations of quality and performance through the product life cycle.
- Provide reliability engineering as a member of a business operations/production and cross functional product support team.
- Work with cross-functional teams to conduct risk analyses and establish design verification testing requirements.
- Create reliability improvement plans by reviewing previous generation product warranty claims and call center data to mitigate field costs.
- Integrate reliability analysis techniques into product or program design objectives.
- Conduct effective Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA).
- Generate test plans and work with test lab technicians to evaluate product and components.
Strong Analyst skills with:
- Failure rates, modes, and mechanisms to support robust product design.
- Reliability problems in existing products, develop, test, implement, and track solutions.
- Warranty and call center data, establish trends, determine root cause of failure and corrective action.
Work cross functionally with:
- Service personnel to identify field problems and implement solutions.
- Purchasing, and component suppliers to drive reliability improvement in purchased components.
- Quality Engineering and Manufacturing Engineering in identifying in-house problems, implementing solutions, and supporting reliability initiatives / continuous improvement.
Required skills:
- Experience in Engineering (Design / Reliability / Quality)
- Bachelors - Engineering / Chemical / Mechanical/ Electrical
- 5+ years of on-the-job experience/ full time role.
Preferred skills
- Experience in appliance industry or mass-produced consumer products
- ASQ CRE (Certified Reliability Engineer) - or open to getting certified.
- Experience with field failure / warranty data analysis and tracking
- Experience with statistics and reliability analysis techniques such as Weibull analysis, Reliability Block Diagrams, FMEAs, Derating, and Reliability Allocation
- Supervisory experience
Preferred Experience with
- Problem Solving Methodologies
- National Instruments LabVIEW
- Design of Experiments
- HALT/HASS, Accelerated Life Testing
- Electrical circuit reliability
