PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The Senior Reliability Engineer provides maintenance support and project management services to produce high quality Dyneema® fiber and Dyneema UD® in a safe, cost effective manner while maintaining excellent safety, human relations, and environmental standards.
JOB CONTEXT:
The Senior Reliability Engineer will operate within the organizational structure to provide Avient Protective Material with reliability support services. The person in this role will interact with all staff and local, site, and global management and colleagues. They will provide guidance and leadership to various teams. They will be knowledgeable of Corporate Reliability Requirements and related Manufex work processes. They will analyze performance data and take action to improve asset utilization.
JOB CONTENT:
Key Areas of Accountability / Responsibility

3.Manufacturing Excellence - Avient Protective Material wants to be 'best in class' in every respect, including manufacturing. To excel in manufacturing, we need to optimize how we do things. Everyone within the organization has at least one role within Manufacturing Excellence. Roles and responsibilities are defined and assigned to those involved in the different Manufacturing Excellence Work Processes.
4.Monitor and analyze repetitive complex multidisciplinary maintenance problems. Lead root cause for equipment failures and initiate equipment or procedural changes to correct the problem.
5.Translate BG / Plant Management objectives into a Preventive & Predictive Maintenance Plan (PPM), in cooperation with maintenance management. Continuously develop and optimize the PPM, achieving maximum availability of the plant against the lowest costs.
6.Use MES and SAP data to populate performance killer and cost driver lists Propose and initiate solutions to eliminate actual and potential performance killers and cost drivers and discuss with stakeholders (maintenance, production, business, etc.). Ensure handover to appropriate work process.
7.Provide training for and lead RCA (Root Cause Analysis) and FMECA (Failure Mode & Effect Criticality Analysis).
8.Professionalize and standardize systems, procedures, and methods to secure most logical/efficient way to ensure control system reliability and integrity.
9.Develops, supports, and implements advanced process control strategies to provide operational improvements.
10.Provides expertise to solve the highest level system problems related to production equipment
11.Generates and ensures Lifetime Extension of plant assets. Responsible for life cycle of mechanical components, review specifications of equipment and spare parts and recommend replacement for obsolete parts, following change control.
12.Supports generation and upkeep of the long-term maintenance strategy. Provides monthly/quarterly/annual technical availability targets and results.
13.Develop plans to reduce COGS by continuously improving efficiencies, processing times, reducing labor and material costs, reducing maintenance cost and controlling expense budgets.
14.Maintain compliance with environmental programs. Promote waste reduction and recovery projects and incorporate associated operations in applicable manufacturing processes. Identify opportunities to minimize waste and to recycle.
15.Comply with all job-related safety and other training requirements.
16.Must be willing to respond to all types of emergencies and spend overtime hours in monitoring scheduled work when required.
17.Perform other duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE AND EDUCATION LEVEL:
MS in related technical field (Engineering or other physical science) with 3 years industry related experience; OR BS/BA in related technical field with 5 years industry related experience; OR Associate's degree in related technical field with 8 years industry related experience.
COMPLEXITY OF THE JOB:
Changes recommended by the Senior Reliability Engineer will directly impact Manufacturing performance and cost initiatives. Reporting generated by this person will be shared locally within Avient Protective Material, globally within Avient Protective Material, and with Corporate Avient Protective Material.
REQUIRED LEVEL OF EXPERIENCES:
- Must have experience in maintenance support and/or reliability engineering functions.
2.Experience with good maintenance practices for equipment installation, preventative maintenance and equipment troubleshooting.
3.Experience with predictive maintenance; Vibration analysis, Thermography, Oil analysis, Ultrasonic Leak Detection, Motor Circuit Analysis.
4.Advanced problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience managing projects in excess of $200k - meet deadlines/budgets and drive projects to closure.
- Must be willing to respond to all types of emergencies and spend overtime hours in monitoring scheduled work when required.
7.Knowledge of Microsoft Office® applications to include Microsoft Excel®; Microsoft Outlook®; and Microsoft Access®.
8.Experience in textiles is highly preferred.
