Senior Remote Sensing Specialist

We are a talented, hardworking group that share values and characteristics that drive client, professional, and personal success. geocgi is looking for a Senior Remote Sensing Specialist to assist the USAID GeoCenter on-site in Washington D.C. The Senior Remote Sensing Specialist shall apply geospatial technologies to address natural resource applications including change detection, monitoring, and extraction and classification of information from imagery using photogrammetry, image classification, and feature extraction technologies. The candidate will execute the responsibilities of a Senior Remote Sensing Specialist which include:

• Apply earth observations data and satellite imagery with other geospatial data to understand a given geographic location.

• Combine remote sensing with other relevant data to analyze geographic, social, economic and political factors.
• Conduct product accuracy assessments and identify and apply new and innovative approaches to geospatial analysis and modeling.
• Develop, manage, and analyze remote sensing and geospatial data sets, including unique and disparate data and information, to support resource management projects that range from local to broad scales.
• Evaluate and apply new remote sensing and associated technologies (e.g., new sensors and platforms, software technologies, data processing and analysis methods, data mining, geospatial modeling, Unmanned Aerial Systems data extraction and interpretation, etc.) and assess their feasibility for use to support USAID needs.
• Prepare scientific and technical reports and geospatial training materials for evaluation and development and provide them to senior level decision-makers.

The following are requirements of the Senior Remote-Sensing Specialist:

• US Citizen.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a US Govt Secret Clearance.
• 8 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years of experience with a Master's degree; or 3 years of experience with a PhD.
• Demonstrated geospatial analysis and applied remote sensing experience.
• Demonstrated experience in data processing, photogrammetry, analysis, and modeling.
• Demonstrated experience with geospatial software applications such as Esri ArcGIS, FUSION, Agisoft Metashape, Summit Evolution, eCognition, Random Forest, Pix4D, or ERDAS Imagine.
• Demonstrated experience with lidar, structure from motion, volumetric measurements, multispectral image applications, Digital Surface Models (DSM), Digital Terrain Models (DTM), orthophotography, or point cloud processing.
