Senior Report Developer

Job Description:
We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Report Developer who specializes in working with data lakes, possesses expertise in PowerBI, is proficient in data mart design, and can also develop data marts.
As a Report Developer, you will play a vital role in our project to build a data lake for a special education data management system, creating insightful and visually appealing reports and contributing to the design and development of data marts that empower data-driven decision-making.
Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience as a Report Developer with a strong background in data lakes, data mart design, and development.
• Expertise in PowerBI, including the ability to create complex reports and dashboards.
• Proficiency in designing and optimizing data marts for reporting and analytics.
• Strong data analysis skills, with the ability to work with large datasets.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills to gather and translate business requirements into effective reports and data marts.
• Knowledge of data governance principles and best practices is a plus.
• Familiarity with data lake technologies (e.g., AWS S3, Azure Data Lake Storage) is advantageous.
• Previous experience in the education sector or with special education data is a bonus but not required.

Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with data architects and analysts to understand data sources and design data marts for reporting purposes.
• Utilize your expertise in PowerBI to develop interactive and visually compelling reports and dashboards.
• Gather requirements from business stakeholders to create custom reports that meet their specific needs and objectives.
• Work with large datasets from the data lake, ensuring data accuracy and reliability in reports.
• Implement data visualization best practices to convey complex information in a clear and understandable manner.
• Contribute to the design and development of data marts that support reporting and analytics requirements.
• Maintain and optimize existing reports, addressing performance issues and ensuring data mart design aligns with business requirements.
• Stay up to date with the latest PowerBI features and industry trends to continuously improve report development and data mart practices.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reports and data marts are delivered on time and meet quality standards.
