As a Senior Risk Solutions Representative, you'll provide specialized customer service to assigned personal lines insurance accounts across a geographic territory, ensuring accurate insurance-to-value, validate compliance with underwriting requirements and policy credit eligibility and provide policyholder education to help avoid or limit losses.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Visits existing or prospective customer and evaluates risk based on the best risk management practices. Discusses relevant information necessary to fully understand the account, business and risks. Performs site survey to evaluate risks and recommends solutions and services that will support the policyholder in reducing or preventing future losses. Makes follow-up visits and provides risk management recommendations to assist and support customers.
- Uncovers exposures or coverage concerns, with assistance, that can be addressed through the agent and the Underwriting team.
- Creates comprehensive written survey reports and recommendations that address hazards and controls associated with customer's property. May also conduct surveys of risks outside assigned territories.
- Provides risk assessment and recommendations regarding risk selection to Underwriting for evaluation and pricing.
- Provides basic technical training and consulting to policyholder, underwriting staff, agency force, claims, etc., to help mitigate risks, reinforce standards and practices, educate on issues regarding loss reduction mitigation.
- Participates in presentations for existing or prospective customers to assist Sales, Marketing, and agency partners with sales and retention efforts.
- Assists with developing education programs and training materials about safety, building design and construction, protection systems, etc.
Reporting Relationships: Reports to Manager or Director; individual contributor
Typical Skills and Experiences:
Education: Bachelor's degree in insurance, business administration, economics/finance, risk management or engineering preferred.
Experience: Typically, three years of experience with personal lines insurance underwriting, property claims, loss control, building evaluation, residential appraisal or risk management preferred.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills: Building construction and repair methods, risk management policies, practices and procedures, insurance coverage and underwriting, claims and related issues. Proven relationship, marketing and consulting skills required to interact with Underwriting, agents, policy holders, managers and vendors. Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to operate a personal computer and other business equipment; prioritize work and meet timelines.
Other criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.
Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by hiring manager's leader and Human Resources Business Partner.

Overtime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt)
Working Conditions: May require overnight travel. Must be able to conduct physical surveys, life up to 50 lbs., climb, stoop, bend, crawl and balance on various heights. Must have a valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record in accordance with Nationwide standards.

Nationwide utilizes a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Colorado is$51,000.00 - $78,500.00
Nationwide pays based on a geographic-specific salary structure. The range for this role in Ithaca, New York is$51,000.00 - $106,000.00
