Position Summary

Matchpoint Therapeutics is seeking a motivated, organized, experienced Senior Research Associate to join our growing Early Discovery Biology team. 

We are seeking candidates with experience performing in vitro molecular and cellular biology experiments to drive early-stage drug discovery programs.  Experience in assay development and troubleshooting is required.  This position will contribute to the establishment of screening assay protocols and contribute to biology studies in established programs.   

The suitable candidate will have a successful track record of working flexibly as a member of drug discovery teams, as well as through a matrix organization. Excellent written and oral communication skills are preferable, as is the desire and ability to work in a multidisciplinary, fast paced, and science-focused environment as an interactive colleague.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assay development and transfer to internal and external teams for screening and compound characterization
  • Design and perform in vitro studies with covalent compounds and interpret data
  • Clear written and verbal communication of results to project teams and research leadership
  • Contribute to scientific discussions within project teams
  • Timely maintenance of an accurate electronic notebook with data interpretation 

Qualifications

  • Bachelors or Master’s degree or equivalent in biological sciences
  • At least three years of in vitro drug discovery experience in biotech/pharmaceutical environment
  • Ability to work effectively in a matrixed organization, and to adjust priorities as required to meet evolving company needs and deadlines
  • Previous experience contributing to small molecule drug discovery and development is desirable
