Position Overview:
Hexagon Lavish® is a scientific research and development startup in Atlanta, Georgia that has an opening for a full-time/permanent position for an Information Characterization Researcher.
The Information Characterization Researcher will be responsible for supporting multiple projects and will work with senior engineers and scientists as far as helping with designing, leading and executing research strategies in the characterization of objects (i.e., food) that supports the company's bottom-line (DUBL ï™, etc.). The ICR will also conduct investigations on product deviation and root cause analysis and the functionality of characterization processes.
This position is not eligible for H-1B Visa sponsorship.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Utilize and apply knowledge of basic scientific principles, theories and concepts to develop solutions to problems of moderate to high complexity. Lead multidisciplinary teams in developing and implementing solutions.
- Review and provide inputs for validation master plans, validation protocols, validation reports, continued process verification (CPV) plans and statistical sampling plans, among other important strategic documents.
- Identify potential root causes of variation and deviations using a systematic approach. Expertise in use / application of variety of problem-solving tools e.g. Ishikawa, Kepner-Tregoe (KT), five-whys, etc. and lead technical Deviation write-ups and CAPA assignments.
- Provide technical input to management team regarding site capacity to evaluate new projects.
- Evaluate and implement advance technologies for process evaluations and optimization (e.g., Process Analytical Technology, electronic batch records etc.)
- Make scientific advancements by promoting innovation through the integration and generation of state-of-the-art technologies and presenting these advancements internally and external forums.
CANDIDATE PROFILE:
- Experience with technology transfer and scale up.
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC), complex data analysis, mathematical modeling, and optimization software (like MiniTab, JMP, etc.) is a must.
- Proficiency with Quality by Design (QbD) concepts and design of experiments required.
- BS/MS/PhD in chemistry (or related field like organic, physical, biochemical, chemical engineering) with 6+ years (BS,), 4+ years (MS) or 2+ years (Ph.D.) industrial GMP is preferred.
- Must harbor a minimum of three years of experience in conversion analytics.
- Interact with collaborators and clients and to write/contribute to proposals and reports.
- Strong oral and written communication skills, well developed interpersonal skills and team.
- Prepare and deliver reports and/or presentations of research projects/analysis results to the Chief Science Officer.
- Apply safety-related knowledge, skills, and practices to mundane duties and responsibilities to work.

Base Salary for this position is conditioned by a "24-schedule" that awards a certain amount per hour.
This position is a full-time/permanent position and requires a "24-schedule" that equates to a minimum of forty (40) hours per week.
