Senior Resource Manager / MNS Analysis Accelerator
Job Description
We are currently seeking an Analysis Accelerator Resource Manager to join the Cross-cutting Urgent Innovation Cell (CUIC) - Analysis Division in MNS, an organization that is unique to MITRE because:

We are looking for talented problem solvers with a passion for adapting emerging academic and commercial technologies to develop cross-cutting innovative solutions for the defense, intelligence, and civilian communities.
We are seeking a leader to strategically shape, foster, and grow new and emerging CUIC initiatives, as well as manage a multi-disciplinary team of talented CUIC staff. Interested candidates should have technical breadth across a range of areas, leadership talent, and knowledge that spans across multiple sponsors and mission spaces. As the Senior Resource Manager / MNS Analysis Accelerator, the candidate will work closely with the CUIC Technical Directors, CUIC Resource Managers, and Operations Manager, CUIC Initiative Leads, CUIC staff, and counterparts across MITRE to support the acceleration of the staff's learning, growth, and development. The candidate will be responsible for managing a team of world-class talent of approximately 20-25 staff, leveraging, and collaborating with the resources available across the Division to include a team of Initiative Leads, mentors, and operations support staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Hiring, developing, and retaining world-class staff.
- Serving as a mentor and fostering a culture of technical creativity and mission impact.
- Developing the next generation of leadership - thought leaders, project leaders, and people leaders.
- Advancing CUIC capabilities through innovation, external partnering, and work program application in alignment with Division strategy.
- Collaborating across MITRE to provide cross-cutting and impactful solutions.
- Partnering with work programs to shape impactful work that benefits national security and related government sectors.
- Identifying and pursuing opportunities to improve the inclusion, diversity, and equity of CUIC's work and staff.
Key Accountabilities:
- Day-to-day interface with CUIC Technical Directors, Resource Managers, and Operations Manager, Initiative Leads, CUIC Staff, and sponsors to develop trusted working relationships.
- Ensures delivery of regular, constructive feedback and developmental support to CUIC staff.
- Development of future MITRE leaders
- Staff have clear expectations and goals that contribute to important sponsor or enterprise strategic outcomes as well as CUIC-organizational outcomes.
Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree and 10-15 years of experience in computer science, data science, applied mathematics/statistics, operation research, artificial intelligence, cyber, systems engineering, or other physical science/engineering fields.
- Active TS/SCI clearance
- Proven leadership experience (minimum of 10 years).
- Experience performing cross-disciplinary work assessing concepts for physics-based analysis of national security challenges in operational contexts.
- Experience with understanding simulation results, identifying areas for additional focus, and extracting critical lessons learned.
- Experience with developing physics-based modeling and simulation tools and applying those tools to address research questions.
- Demonstrated problem-solving skills and capable of working with scientists, analysts, and technical software developers across several technical disciplines.
- Experience in shaping and executing complex DoD and classified sponsor mission outcomes.
- Success in setting and meeting strategic objectives and advancing short and long-term program goals.
- History of team building, achieving team goals, and growing trust.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Prior roles required full responsibility/accountability for deliverables and outcomes -including definition, completion, and technical quality, as well as assuring consistency across the responsibility span.
- Effective in interacting with technical staff, analysts, and operators ranging from junior-level contributors to senior leaders in DoD.
- Experience mentoring staff and leading teams of various sizes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Masters or PhD with research experience in one of the above specified degree programs.
- Proficiency with modeling and simulation tools such as AFSIM and/or JOVE.
- Familiarity with one or more of the following: aerodynamic systems, orbital mechanics, signal processing, sensor systems, and RF or EO/IR physics.
