Job Summary:

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Revenue focused - working to maintain and close the revenue system monthly, as well as reviewing complex contracts to determine proper revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606. Activities include monthly revenue closing entries, monthly maintenance and close of billing system, revenue analysis, contract review, evaluation and documentation, working with Sales to understand revenue contract dynamics, reconciliations, summarize results and work with business partners to facilitate order best practices.

2. Identifies areas of risk and opportunity, partnering with Management to implement procedures to mitigate risk and facilitate transparent order processing, reporting and analytics.

3. Leads the implementation of revenue accounting principles, including researching, documenting, educating/training the team, and executing related projects.

4. Manages reconciliations and related schedules, including but not limited to: revenue reconciliations with our advertising partners and internal stakeholders, revenue contract review, revenue disclosures, deferred revenues, cost/equity investments, and notes receivable.

5. Manages month-end close process for assigned business units and consolidated division accounting activities in accordance with US GAAP and iHeartMedia policies. Responsibilities include:
  • "Telling the story" - P&L analysis and general ledger account review - revenue focus
  • Follow all key controls to ensure SOX compliance
  • Journal entry preparation
  • Balance sheet reconciliations


6. Prepare schedules for Corporate Accounting, including ASC 606 Revenue Disclosures, and external audit requests.

7. Manages and participates in special projects or support tasks, as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting and 3-5+ years of relevant experience required
  • Advanced Excel knowledge including understanding and using formulas and manipulating large sets of data
  • Strong financial information systems experience preferred (COGNOS, NetSuite, Peoplesoft, etc.)


Other:
  • Possess and demonstrate excellent organizational, interpersonal, facilitation, oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision, independently and/or as a member of a project team.
  • Ability to multitask and to prioritize workload under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment - must escalate appropriate issues to management in a timely fashion.
  • Must be detailed oriented - with strong attention to accuracy and problem solving. "Following-up until resolved" skills are a must.
  • Skills in Microsoft office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc.)
