HubSpot is a rapidly growing publicly traded technology company that has organically grown revenue from just under $100 million at the time of our IPO in 2014 to more than $2 billion in 2023. With top-line growth that will happen for years to come we are looking for a senior revenue accountant to join our expanding revenue team!
In this role you’ll get to:
-
Support Hubspot Revenue Recognition Close process including posting journal entries completing account reconciliations executing control procedures and preparing related disclosures for company filings
-
Review deal desk requests and signed customer agreements and to identify non-standard terms and conditions and determine proper accounting treatment under ASC 606
-
Act as a key resource in independently identifying and resolving revenue technical accounting process and sales related issues that arise on a day-to-day basis related to the Company’s products pricing and non-routine revenue transactions
-
Support the Technical Accounting team on analysis and documentation of technical revenue recognition requirements for non-routine or new offerings
-
Collaborate and coordinate with business partners to support business initiatives drive process improvements and implement policies and best practices
-
Assist implementation and testing of new product offerings to ensure accurate revenue recognition across business systems
-
Work with key IT contacts to maximize automation of revenue recognition and serve as a key participant in the implementation of a new revenue recognition system.

Participate in or lead ad hoc projects as needed

Play a key role in coordination between Revenue Accounting and internal & external audit teams

Ensure compliance of key accounting controls for Sarbanes Oxley purposes
We are looking for people who have:
-
Bachelor's degree in accounting CPA preferred
-
3-5 years of professional experience in accounting ideally a combination of public accounting firm and revenue accounting in the Tech industry
-
Solid understanding of revenue accounting under ASC 606 including SaaS
-
Advanced proficiency in Excel is required Netsuite a plus
-
Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines
-
Strong oral and written skills and the ability to communicate with senior leaders

Cash compensation range: 84000-126000 USD Annually This resource will help guide how we recommend thinking about the range you see. Learn more about HubSpot’s compensation philosophy . The cash compensation above includes base salary on-target commission for employees in eligible roles and annual bonus targets under HubSpot’s bonus plan for eligible roles. In addition to cash compensation some roles are eligible to participate in HubSpot’s equity plan to receive restricted stock units (RSUs). Some roles may also be eligible for overtime pay. Individual compensation packages are based on a few different factors unique to each candidate including their skills experience qualifications and other job-related reasons.
