Senior Revenue Accountant

Databricks is looking for a Sr. Revenue Accountant to join our team! You will report to the Manager of Revenue Accounting in charge of month-end close. Together, we will support the accounting close cycle for revenue recognition, which includes reviewing contracts, validating usage calculations for prepaid commitments, and preparing internal reporting for the Financial Planning & Analysis and General Ledger Accounting teams. Our ideal candidate is a team player, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and has a solid understanding of complex revenue accounting principles.

The impact you will have:

• Ensure proper application of ASC 606 to customer contracts including assessing for non-standard terms and documenting accounting conclusions.
• Perform monthly accounting close activities and deliverables that are not limited to usage review, journal entry preparation, flux analyses, account reconciliations, and analytics.
• Support the financial reporting process by preparing important metrics, financial statement disclosures, and ad hoc requests from management.
• Collaborate with cross functional partners to implement systematic processes and automation to support our scalability goals and new business initiatives.
• Support the audit process by preparing schedules, documenting controls, participating in walkthroughs, and liaising with auditors to provide necessary support.
• Assist in driving process improvements to help accelerate the monthly close cycle

What we look for:

• Bachelor's degree with an emphasis in Finance or Accounting.
• 5+ years of combined experience in public accounting and/or a corporate revenue accounting role.
• Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal supervision to prioritize tasks effectively and deliver high quality results.
• Operational accounting experience in a growing SAAS technology business and experience with activities in the quote-to-cash process (e.g. order review, contract creation in an accounting system, billing, revenue recognition).
• Proficient with Excel (maintaining complex spreadsheets and calculations), NetSuite, and Salesforce.
• Database & SQL experience is a plus.
