Job Description
Poshmark is seeking a Senior Revenue Accountant to join our accounting team. This role requires an individual with excellent business, communication, and analytical skills, enabling collaboration with various functions. The successful candidate will be a self-starter comfortable with ambiguity, with strong attention to detail and desire to learn complex processes and systems.

To be successful in this high-volume role you must be a hardworking and detail-oriented professional with exceptional communication skills, as you will be communicating with the Accounting and Operations teams on a daily basis regarding various aspects of Accounting including but not limited to: month-end processes, reconciliations and related analysis, external audit support, monthly reporting packages, and ad hoc projects and assignments.
Responsibilities:
- Perform monthly/quarterly revenue accounting close tasks including but not limited to preparing revenue analysis, journal entries, and account reconciliations for revenue and related accounts.
- Reconcile revenue and COR transactions along with the related balance sheet accounts (funds receivable and customer redeemable balances).
- Partner with shipping team in preparing monthly journal entries and reconciliations related to shipping
- Partner with operation team and perform daily inquiries on unusual revenue transactions.
- Partner with Data and Engineering team, and support API implementations related to revenue processes.
- Reconcile internal data to accounting posted balances and perform complex bank reconciliations.
- Assist in implementing revenue recognition policies and procedures to ensure are in accordance with ASC 606.
- Assist with SOX implementation and ensure compliance with SOX 404 controls.
- Support internal and external audits and ad hoc projects as needed.
6-Month Accomplishments:Â
- Obtain understanding and knowledge of business operations, revenue streams, policies, and ASC 606
- Demonstrate proficiency with company’s systems and accounting operations
- Preparing and reconciling revenue and COR transactions, including owning revenue functions and related areas of improvements
- Proficiency in assisting with streamlining and automating revenue processes
- Mastery of strong time management, written, analytical and verbal communication skills
- Supporting implementation and documentation of accounting policies and procedures
- Supporting and executing revenue ad hoc projects
- Supporting annual financial and tax audits
12+ Month Accomplishments:
- Mastery of the 6-month accomplishments
- Mastery of thorough understanding of the nuances, transaction cycles, and accounting treatments around revenue recognition and ASC 606
- Supporting with preparation of revenue monthly reporting package, and preparing monthly working papers prepared for the monthly/ quarterly/ annual closing
- Mastery for data accuracy and integrity; excellent reconciliation skills
- Building strong cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively
- Prioritizing effectively, meeting deadlines, working with others and following through to execute all tasks
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or equivalent, CPA a plus
- Understanding of current GAAP standards as well as familiar with ASC 606 and big 4 experience is preferred.
- Minimum 5 to 7 years of relevant accounting experience.
- Public company and SOX 404 experience are desired.
- Experience with Intacct or equivalent ERP system.
- Be able to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player, and willing to contribute beyond the defined role to meet business needs as circumstances require. Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and multitask effectively and work as part of a team, deliver results and meet expectations in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail; excellent reconciliation skills
- Advanced Excel and proficient in MS Office
- Internally motivated to seek out answers, generate ideas and ability to learn quickly in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- High degree of confidentiality, integrity and judgement.
