Senior Revenue Accountant I

The Revenue Accountant position at SailPoint is a unique opportunity to grow your career by developing your financial and accounting expertise while working with cross functional teams including FP&A, Deal Desk, Sales Ops, and Legal/Contracts teams. As part of the revenue team, you will be challenged to think critically about the revenue impacts of deal structures and contract terms from our agreements with customers in a high growth, fast changing software environment. This position has the overall responsibility for initial set-up, documentation, and tracking of Professional Services contracts in accordance with the Company's policy. Individual will be part of a team effort to perform proper compliance and documentation of all Professional Services global transactions.

• Review customer Statements of Work:
  • Perform initial review of contracts
  • Document contract key data points
  • Highlight contract points for additional review in accordance with company policy and authoritative accounting guidance
  • Follow-up with Contracts, Sales, and Professional Service Teams on any open items related to deal completion
  • Input contract detail, pricing, and customer information
• Prepare monthly and quarterly close items related to professional services transactions
• Stand-alone Selling Price (SSP) Analysis - maintain on-going detail and analysis database of transactions to support SSP by revenue stream
• Assist with monitoring and tracking qualitative deal information used for analysis under accounting revenue guidance
• Review stand-alone statement-of-work(s) and document initial revenue conclusion related to impact with any related license or SaaS contract and coordinate proper revenue treatment
• Apply concepts from ASC 606 Revenue from Contracts with Customers
• Assist in the documentation, creation, and maintenance of internal policies, procedures, and controls
• Create detailed reporting as needed for management purposes
• Prepare supporting documentation for audit and tax requests as needed
• Perform other duties and projects related to role as assigned

Required Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
• Up to 3 years of relevant experience in industry, public accounting, academic, or combination
• Software industry experience a plus
• Excellent organization skills and detail oriented with the ability to handle multiple, competing tasks simultaneously
• Experience with an Accounting ERP system, experience with Intacct a plus
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to develop effective working relationships within and across departments
• Strong Excel skills and computer skills required
• Be part of a team that helps the company develop processes and procedures as the team and company grow, willingness to get into the detail
• Familiarity with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements and documentation
• Strong analytical skills and leadership qualities
