Senior Revenue Technical Accounting Manager
Job Description
The Senior Revenue Technical Accounting Manager holds responsibility of reviewing revenue contracts to determine GAAP accounting treatment. You'll provide guidance to Deal Management, Sales Support, Pricing, Sales and Corporate Development on revenue recognition and lease accounting. You'll facilitate regular interaction with the external audit team to ensure timely review and approval of revenue accounting policies. Must have expertise in drafting technical accounting memos. Must manage the monthly process to review revenue contracts with non-standard terms, operationalize the contracts and provide guidance to the revenue accounting team for complex revenue transactions. Must also ensure all documentation to support non-standard revenue conclusions are maintained for SOX control control purposes. Responsible for maintaining and developing processes and procedures that properly capture, track and report revenue, in accordance with the company's revenue recognition policies, ASC 606 and ASC 842. Must also develop processes and procedures in line with relevant internal controls and SOX requirements.

- Lead technical revenue accounting research and apply judgement in the evaluation of arrangements in all areas of the business, supporting our business units with their assessment of accounting issues
- Work cross-functionally to ensure appropriate treatment of complex or non-routine business transactions, including but not limited to revenue arrangements, leases etc. while coordinating information gathering with other departments to complete the required analysis
- Monitor, interpret and implement new reporting and accounting standards and pronouncements
- Provide guidance, oversight and training to team members on a project basis to include creating and presenting different training and GAAP update courses including but not limited to revenue recognition and leases, to accounting staff and upper management
- Ensure all non-standard revenue data is verified and validated
- Coordinate quarterly reviews with KPMG and internal audit on complex revenue/ leases/ other technically complex transactions
- Provide guidance to Deal Management, Sales Support, Pricing, Sales and Corporate Development on revenue recognition and lease accounting
- Facilitate regular interaction with the external audit team to ensure timely review and approval of revenue accounting policies
- Manage monthly cycle for Non-standard Revenue deals
- Ensure all documentation to support non-standard revenue conclusions are maintained for SOX controls purposes
- Manage the non-standard revenue process and revenue upload process
- Assist with special projects and preparation of ad-hoc reports and analysis, as necessary
- You will be responsible for providing direct leadership, guidance and development to a team of revenue accounting professionals
You should definitely have:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited university with a major in accounting or finance
- Certified Public Accounting (CPA) certification or equivalent
- At least ten (10) years of demonstrated financial reporting, accounting and accounting research experience with a national public accounting firm, and a total of (12) years' relevant experience
- Expert working knowledge of US GAAP, SEC, IFRS (desired) and other accounting and reporting standards
- Expertise in researching and developing technical accounting procedures and positions in response to complex accounting issues mainly relating to (but not limited to) revenue recognition and leases, with the ability to draft position papers, suggest policy actions and otherwise provide formal written guidance to management regarding those issues
- Demonstrate consistency in making decisions in a timely manner, sometimes with incomplete information and under tight deadlines and pressure
- Ability to integrate and balance priorities, work activities and resources for the benefit of multiple stakeholders
- Command over core business processes
- Knowledge and understanding of the following areas: ERP systems, ability to evaluate risk impact and vulnerability, experience driving Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) work, multinational compliance experience
- Excellent persuasion and leadership skills are critical
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational and project management skills are essential
- Demonstrated expertise in appropriate accounting treatment of routine and complex revenue transactions.
- Demonstrated direct managerial experience over a team of accounting professionals through progressive career development and performance management
- Must have effective written and oral English language skills
- This role is subject to ITAR/EAR; candidates must be a US Person (this includes US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Protected Individual such as an asylee or refugee)
