What is the opportunity?

The C&C Senior Risk Analyst will be part of RBC Clearing & Custody, a fast-growing business channel. This role will interact with C&C firms, along with internal personnel, on key financial risk items related to the C&C business. This role will work closely with C&C Risk Manager, as well as with Senior C&C Management.

What will you do?

  • Review daily risk reports, identify issues of concern, and resolve and/or escalate accordingly
  • Review financial statements and Focus reports for existing firms and identify trends, variances, etc.
  • Utilize applicable monitoring tools for the review of proprietary trading by C&C client firms
  • Monitor C&C Market Access Rule (MAR) and ACT trading limits proactively escalating limit breach concerns to interested parties as appropriate
  • Work closely with C&C firms, along with internal C&C staff, on understanding new and/or proposed C&C firm activities and associated risks
  • Document new firm risk profiles, including firm snapshot and anticipated trading activities, which are used to incorporate risk limits for C&C Risk review process
  • Function as a liaison during new firm conversion process for new C&C firms with respects to risk limits and risk set-up process
  • Escalate risk concerns and limit increases appropriately, as defined within the delegation of authority matrix
  • Other project work, analysis assignments and duties as assigned

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

  • Risk Management experience in a Broker-Dealer or Financial Services firm
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of management, as well as with C&C firms
  • Ability to work independently and under pressure, all while adhering to deadlines and tight schedules
  • Ability to influence others and convey difficult messages in a clear and concise manner
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Nice-to-have

  • Series 7 and/or other advance licenses
  • Risk Management / Credit / Operations Background
  • Ability to adapt to an ever changing, fast paced environment

Job Summary

• The Risk Analyst is responsible for reviewing, monitoring, and reporting financial risk associated with the Clearing & Custody business channel.• This position will work closely with Risk Management personnel to analyze, understand, quantify and minimize financial risk to the business.
