Job Description

Senior Risk Reporting Data Analyst with a data engineering background in Banking & Financial Services to analyze reporting & downstream data requirements against the data available in Enterprise Data Platform (EDP), design and map to subject area Infomarts that will be accessed by downstream applications. Partner closely with Risk, Regulatory, and Compliance Reporting Teams, various downstreams of EDP, working alongside teams within the business or the management team to establish business needs, and defining new data collection and analysis processes.

Responsibilities

• Use statistical methods to analyze data and generate useful business reports
• Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each business segment
• Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
• Use data to create models
• Work with department managers to outline the specific data needs for each business method analysis project
• Gather, elicit, analyze, document, and translate business requirements (functional and non-functional) into technical specifications and other supporting documentation
• Work with management team to create a prioritized list of needs for each business segment
• Identify and recommend new ways to save money by streamlining business processes
• Conduct and document impact analysis, gap analysis, data analysis and testing
• Create and maintain technical specifications, flowcharts, mapping specifications, data dictionaries, metadata, lineage documents
• Participate in SIT, Regression Test, and Prod Parallel as applicable. Create Regression Test Bed and Support Test Automation
• Liaise with business users, the Chief Data Office Organization, Operations, Technology, and other stakeholders to achieve the intended outcomes while following the banks processes, standards, and procedures
• Work with department managers to outline the specific data needs for each business method analysis project

Experience

• 5-6 years' experience of Risk Reporting and Data Analysis
• Knowledge of Risk and Regulatory Reports is required
• Experience with Reporting Platforms a plus.
• Knowledge of computer software, including relevant applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Application development experience preferably in data warehousing/data marts
• Knowledge of relational and dimensional data models/databases
• Knowledge of relevant laws, legal codes, government regulations, agency rules, and current industry practices
• Knowledge of computer software, including relevant applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Technology infrastructure or application development experience
• Experience in data models and reporting packages
• Ability to articulate complex issues concisely
• Ability to analyze large datasets
• Ability to write comprehensive reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving
• Ability to show exceptional attention to detail, and to interact well with others
• Strong oral and written communication skills, as well as follow-up and follow through skills to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner
• Ability to interpreting pre-established guidelines and adapt to changes in priorities and new situations as needed
• Excellent interpersonal and time-management skills, and self-motivated
• Financial industry experience in data warehousing, data integration and reporting projects in at least one of the following subject areas - core banking, capital markets, risk, finance, regulatory, and compliance
• Hands-on business analysis and data analysis experience in data and/or reporting platforms
• Experience in data models and reporting packages
• Ability to articulate complex issues concisely
• Ability to analyze large datasets
• Ability to write comprehensive reports
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• An analytical mind and inclination for problem-solving

Technology Experience

• Hands-on experience with advanced SQL and advanced Excel functions; Jira, Confluence, Tableau
• Exposure to cloud technologies, Data Lakes, AWS Redshift, Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL is a plus
• Knowledge of Data Integration, Data Governance, and Data Quality tools
• SQL, Jira, Confluence, Tableau
• Knowledge of Testing Tools

Education
• A degree in mathematics / computer science / statistics / economics, or equivalent combination of education and experience
