Senior Robotics Software Engineer - SLAM: What You’ll Do

As part of the Autonomy & Mapping Team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing cutting-edge algorithms that allow Exyn’s robotic systems to map the world in which they live. You will work with a dynamic, multi-disciplinary team to further aerial autonomy and help deploy autonomous robots in commercial environments such as warehouses and underground tunnel networks. There will be opportunities to support field testing, work with customers and investors, as well as mentor members of the team.
Here’s a snapshot of what your role would look like:

• We’ll ask you to utilize your expertise in robotics, SLAM, localization, and sensor fusion in relation to dynamic environments.
• You’ll be responsible for writing quality code in C++, using standard Linux toolchains.
• You’ll deliver high-quality software design, documentation, and implementation.
• You will support the construction of localization and long-term mapping systems.
• You’ll collaborate with other “Exyneers” and provide feedback on all elements of end-to-end product development.
• You’ll be asked to be a thought leader in areas of specialization and contribute original ideas and improvements to project designs, pipelines, and tools.

Senior Robotics Software Engineer - SLAM: What We’re Looking For

When reviewing resumes we’ll be looking to see that you have:

• At least 6 years of relevant work experience in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience with C++ and object-oriented software development in a Linux environment.
• Experience with 3D LIDAR-based SLAM, and non-linear optimization methods.
• Experience with point cloud post-processing techniques and registration.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a full-time position. As a Level 5, Individual Contributor role, the salary is $155,000 and is based on market data aligned with our strategic approach to compensation. In addition to cash, you’ll receive equity and be eligible to enroll in our benefits package which includes health/vision/dental insurance (available from day one!), 401K, vacation time, family leave, and more!
