About the role
This is a unique opportunity to make a very quantifiable, direct impact on the growth of a company truly changing the world. Food waste accounts for 8-10% of all greenhouse gas emissions globally, and, in the USA, over 60% of all food waste happens at the end of the supply chain (retail or household). We have already dramatically reduced food waste with our existing customers and want your help proliferating the outcomes Afresh delivers across the industry.Â
We are hiring Afresh’s “Founding Senior Sales Engineer” to help up-level our sales process and execution, evangelize the differentiation and effectiveness of our new approach to managing the fresh supply chain, and drive the adoption of our growing product set. Afresh’s Founding SE will collaborate closely with Sales Leadership and our Account Executive team, but also with cross-functional leaders and teams such as Implementation, Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Customer Success. Our vision and expectation is that this individual will help build out the resources, processes, documentation and vision for a global SE team as we expand into new markets.Â
As the “Founding Senior Sales Engineer” at Afresh, you will:
- Work directly with prospects and customers to communicate product differentiation, value, and technical functionalityÂ
- Lead technical validation process from discovery to implementation, and support the Implementation Team through the implementation phaseÂ
- Collaborate closely with Account Executives on deal strategy, risks, and opportunitiesÂ
- Consistently collate, deliver, and discuss product feedback from the field to our Product and Engineering teamsÂ
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to support new messaging/positioning and launching new products and enablement resourcesÂ
- Build the foundational components of the SE team at Afresh and be responsible for the build-out of the team overtime as the business needs additional supportÂ
- Maintain deep understanding of competitive and complementary technologies and vendors and how to position Snowflake in relation to themÂ
- Be a technical expert on all aspects of Afresh.Â
Skills and ExperienceÂ
- 3+ years of Sales Engineer experience, preferably working with Grocery or AI/ML related products
- 5+ years of experience in a customer facing roleÂ
- Experience managing end-to-end technical validation or POC process(es) of a technically-complex SaaS productÂ
- Demonstrated record of effectively collaborating with key stakeholders such as Account Executives and cross-functional leaders/teammates
- Experience leading projects and/or initiatives that go beyond their daily responsibilities as “building” will be a core responsibility of the founding SE at AfreshÂ
- A true self-starter that is also comfortable dealing with ambiguity in a start-up environment where context changes rapidlyÂ
- Passion to solve unique, world-changing problems and be willing to go above and beyond to solve these problems
- Willingness to travel to work with prospective customers onsite, up to 50% travelÂ
Nice to have:Â
- Experience with data architecture and ETL
- Consistently worked on strategic deals with companies with 10k+ employees or $500k+ ACV opportunities
