Job Description
What do you do in this position?
As a Senior Sales Engineer you are a trusted advisor to our automotive partners and customers, providing high quality consultancy on the state-of-the-art Cerence AI solutions. The Cerence product and solutions portfolio ranges over a comprehensive set of Edge AI products to realize advanced and button-less user experiences in the vehicle but also includes the world's most advanced hybrid Automotive Assistant platform (ie. utilizing embedded and/or cloud-based capabilities and content) to build customer-specific smart assistant solutions, services and applications.
You build a deep relationship with key stakeholders, leveraging your great communication and presentation skills as well as your technical expertise. You help customers decide on optimal solution architectures, you guide them to find the right set of custom features, and you consult them on how to realize the best end-user experience for their brand and program. You listen carefully to their requirements, plans and intentions, and foster quick and to the point responses from our side. You co-create suitable solution proposals with corresponding effort and planning estimates, crisp technical descriptions and Statements of Work. You support Account Management in driving customer decision making all the way to successfully closing the deal.
What does it take for this position?
Ideally, you have a technical or scientific university degree, combined with several years of relevant industry experience. Your aspiration is to bring cutting edge infotainment products and solutions to the automotive market, and you appreciate that the best strategy for success is founded on excellent long-term customer relationships and high customer satisfaction. As a self-driven professional you love working with people with varying backgrounds, and the big picture is as important to you as the technical solution details. Your English language skills in oral and written form are excellent, so cooperation and teamwork beyond language boundaries have become a second nature to you.
What else is important?
Cerence has always worked under the principle of "think globally, act locally". As such, you are part of the very dedicated team in charge of customer relationships in Europe, which in turn is part of the global Cerence family, serving in every major automotive market, working with every major auto maker in the world. Together with an account manager, you are as much responsible for transforming your customer's needs and asks into tangible business opportunities, as you are for directing the customer's interests strategically to ensure long-term business growth.
You are based at one of our major automotive offices in North America (i.e.Detroit, Montreal) but travel in North America as well as internationally is not an issue for you.
Cerence is a company that values dedication, commitment and performance. Therefore, you can expect very competitive benefits and rewards, honoring your personal accomplishments as part of the Cerence success story.
Cerence Inc. (Nasdaq: CRNC and www.cerence.com) is the global industry leader in creating unique, moving experiences for the automotive world.
