Senior Sales Engineer - Australia and New Zealand
As a Sales Engineer you will play a key role to identify customer pain points, develop solutions, present the Fastly value benefits and address any technical objections. To realize this, the Sales Engineer should have a strong desire to utilize their technical and sales skills to understand the customer’s needs and requirements. The Sales Engineer should be highly competent in assisting to develop a technical sales strategy and have the ability to work cross-functionally with Sales, Product Management, Product Marketing, Engineering. Experience in delivering compelling demonstrations of cloud solutions and products is essential.
This position reports to the Sales Engineering Manager located in Sydney Australia.
What You'll Do:
- Collaborate with Account Executives to develop and execute a winning sales strategy for an opportunity. Be the technical expert in the room
- Uncover customer needs through a consultative process and propose relevant solutions
- Build demos to show specific technical capabilities key to customer interest across Fastly’s products. These include web application delivery, web application security and edge compute capabilities
- Perform product demonstrations live in the field and via video conference
- Implement and successfully drive Proof-of-Concepts to a successful close
- Participate in product, sales and role-specific trainings to build skills and knowledge in your role, share experience with the team and contribute to local sales strategies in Australia and New Zealand
- Engage with the Fastly Account Management and Channel teams, deliver training and onboarding where required, attend conferences, meetups and other events
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in a similar role for an IT security vendor
- Knowledge in cloud and web related technologies
- Customer facing experience is essential
- Comfortable with networking/security systems/protocols and Linux systems
- Working familiarity with a scripting language (python, ruby, perl, PHP or VCL), and can take the customers through our code and capabilities
- Open, curious and receptive to new ideas and ways of doing things
- Travel during the week, approximately 30%
Work Hours:
This position will require you to be available during core business hours.
Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:
This position is a remote role and open to candidates residing in the following locations only: Sydney, NSW.
We do not have an office in Sydney, but the team regularly work together and collaborate face to face in Work Spaces in the City.
This position may require travel across ANZ or Internationally, as required by your role or requested by your manager.
