The Position

The Senior Sales Representative is responsible for achieving sales targets, market share and growth for assigned products through identification and development of customer and/or care plans. Reporting to the Senior Sales Manager, the representative promotes products with designated customers within the Newcastle, Central Coast and Coffs Harbour geographical territory. The role is an autonomous one and ability to travel frequently is essential.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Creating a superior customer experience for all assigned HCP’s & relevant allied health, with a view to continually increasing customer loyalty.

  • Development, implementation, and execution of business plans on territory.

  • Ensuring service provided by Organon is consistent with the needs expressed by the customer.

  • Building long-term, trusted business relationships with Health Care Professionals (Doctors, Nurses & Pharmacists)

  • Demonstrating competence in technical information whilst implementing product sales strategies to customers

  • Displaying selling skills that understand and meet customer needs by delivering tailored solutions

  • Interacting with individual customers or groups of customers using a variety of multimedia technologies

  • Achieving call volume, frequency & coverage expectations on target customers

  • Coordinating and implementing Medical Education Meetings in collaboration with relevant colleagues

  • Utilizing sales analysis tools to develop Territory Business Plans and implement sales activities that maximize high-potential areas of the business

  • Utilizing the designated CRM system to record call activity and enhance customer relationships

  • Travelling every 3-4 weeks to country/regional areas and to sales conferences as required

  • Attending and actively participating in team or business meetings

  • Administration activities including expenses

Key Performance Indicators

  • Achievement of Sales Targets

  • Internal business drivers including:

    • Field days

    • Call volumes

    • Reach and frequency

    • Medical education meetings

    • Maintenance of CRM system – entering accurate call and activity notes within the required timeframe (24hrs)

Training applicable to the role includes

  • Disease state, product & competitor

  • Medicines Australia (MA) Code of Conduct, if not completed.

Experience & Qualifications

  • Educational background in healthcare or science

  • 2+ years’ sales experience

  • Experience in medical or pharmaceutical environments is an advantage

  • Medicines Australia (desirable). If not completed prior to employment, employee is required to complete within first year of employment.

  • Ability to travel via car (essential)
