About the Role
As a Senior Salesforce Developer at Cockroach Labs, you will be a key member of our systems team, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing code based solutions on the Salesforce platform. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet business requirements and contribute to the overall success of our Salesforce implementation. To be eligible for this role, you must be based in Austin or NYC and will be expected to go into the office on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.Â
You Will
- Develop and customize Salesforce solutions using Apex, Lightning components, Visualforce and other related technologies
- Design and implement Salesforce APIs to support various integration requirements.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to Salesforce CPQ functionality, ensuring smooth operation and minimal disruption to business processes
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements, analyze business processes, and provide innovative Salesforce solutions
- Create data mapping and transformation processes to ensure data consistency, accuracy, and integrity between Salesforce and integrated systems, while adhering to data security and compliance standards
- Participate in code reviews and ensure best practices are followed for development and deploymentÂ
- Responsible for authoring a style guide for Salesforce development
- Stay current with Salesforce platform updates, new features, and industry best practices
The Expectations
In your first 30 days, your initial focus will be on gaining a deep understanding of our technological landscape. During this period, you will engage with our existing Salesforce projects, review codebases, and collaborate with the systems team to understand our coding standards and best practices. Additionally, you will build connections with key stakeholders to establish trust and form collaborative relationships.
By the end of your first 90 days, you will be fully integrated into the systems team and play an active role in our Salesforce initiatives. You'll become a valuable partner to our leaders, collaborating closely with our GTM (Go-To-Market) teams. This involvement will include initiating new projects and processes to enhance Salesforce development, focusing on areas such as performance, enablement, and operations.
As the Salesforce Developer, your contributions will extend beyond coding to actively shaping the direction of Salesforce development within the organization. You'll be involved in strategic discussions, providing insights and solutions that align with our business goals. As Salesforce is one of our core tools for scaling, you will have a key impact on many of our company-wide strategic initiatives.
You Have
- 6-8+ years of hands-on experience as a Salesforce Developer
- Proficiency in Apex, Visualforce, Lightning components, and Salesforce APIs
- Experience working with CPQ
- Familiarity with integration tools, Mulesoft preferred
- CPQ Knowledge preferred
- Experience with Snowflake or other data warehousing solutions is a plus
- Knowledge in Trigger Frameworks and Salesforce governor limits
- Solid knowledge of web protocols and standards such as SOAP, JSON, and HTTP
- Advanced Development Salesforce certifications (Platform Developer I required)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills

The annual anticipated base salary range for U.S. candidates for this role is USD $125,000 to $170,000, plus commission if a sales role. We set standard ranges for all U.S.-based roles based on function, level, and geographic location, benchmarked against similar stage growth companies. In order to be compliant with local legislation, as well as to provide greater transparency to candidates, we share salary ranges on all job postings regardless of desired hiring location.  Actual salaries may vary and fall outside of this range depending on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, geographic location, skills, experience, and competencies. In addition, we are often open to a wide variety of profiles, and recognize that the person we hire may be less experienced (or more senior) than this job description as posted. Salary is one component of the Cockroach Labs’ total rewards package, which includes stock options, health insurance, life and disability insurance, funds towards professional development resources, flexible PTO, paid holidays, and parental leave, to name a few! Salaries for candidates outside the U.S. will vary based on local compensation structures.Â
