The following position is to join our Corporate or Research Center Team:

Raytheon Technologies (RTX) has an opening for a Senior SAP ABAP Developer (Manager, Software Development). This position will work as part of a SAP Development team.

Individual Contributor. Remote Opportunity.

The Sr. SAP ABAP Developer will design, code, unit test, debug, and implement SAP ABAP applications; adhere to Raytheon Technologies development standards and methodologies and perform code reviews with peers and correct coding problems.

Job Responsibilities:

• Partner with functional teams to review functional specifications and produce technical design specifications

• Provide level of effort estimates based on functional specifications or business requirements

• Design, code, unit test, debug and implement SAP ABAP applications while working closely with functional teams

• Resolve open development issues and recommend alternate technical approaches

• Proactively provide work status

• Follow development standards and methodology

• Ensure that documentation is properly maintained

• Support the change control process

• Conduct code reviews with peers

• Support application upgrades

• Work Defects

• Develop test plans for new or modified programs

• Test, debug, implement, and document fixes

• Perform issue resolution and root cause analysis

• Provide advanced problem solving and technical support, including on-call critical support

• Available to support off-shift system support

Required Skills:

Typically a minimum of 8+ years SAP experience (SD, MM, PP, QM, PM, FI and core capabilities like OO ABAP, ALE/EDI, WebDynpro ABAP) and a bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree; Advanced degree and 5+ years related work experience

• Strong application development and systems integration experience

• Demonstrated soft skills for the presentation of ideas and concepts to stakeholders such as vendors, end users and senior management.

• Excellent verbal, written, communication, presentation, and negotiations skills

• Strong customer service approach and effectively interface with technical and nontechnical staff at all organizational levels

• Expert troubleshooting techniques and ability to escalate issues properly and in a timely fashion

• Strong understanding and implementation experience using the scaled agile framework (SAFe) methodology

• Experience with Manufacturing Execution in SAP ERP

• Working knowledge of SAP DIMP primarily in an Aerospace and Defense setting

• Experience extending SAP standard functionality using ABAP Objects and other modern SAP technologies.

• Available to support off-shift system support

• US Citizenship

Desired Skills:

• Knowledge of the OSS process

• Knowledge of the ABAP development process

• Good understanding of performance tuning

• Good understanding of dialog programming

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills for design, creation, and testing of programs

• Experience documenting As-Is and To-Be processes

• Raytheon CORE certification

Education Requirements:

Typically a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) or related discipline or equivalent combination of related work experience and schooling in lieu of degree
