What you will be doing

The individual in Senior SAP BW/ HANA Developer role has responsibility for activities that contribute to planning, creating, and implementing an IT vision and strategy aligned with the company's strategic business plan. Under the general direction of the Manager of Application Development, this role is responsible for the development of technical objects, provide technical direction, and subject matter expertise. Requires expertise in multiple technical environments and an increased level of business knowledge. Please note, this is a hands-on SAP development role.

• Consults in the project planning process with business analysts, system analysts, architects and team members.
• Keeps team members aware of issues, risks, and challenges.
• Develop Native HANA Model, BW Objects, complex data transformation logic using both ABAP and SQLScript
• Meets with process team to analyze business processes, understand requirements, and recommend technical solutions.
• Works in conjunction with process team on the technical evaluation and selection process for system enhancements, by overseeing gap analysis studies, feasible alternative solutions, and recommending and/or approving the scope of modifications.
• Participates in and makes performance recommendations to code and peer reviews.
• May provide technical leadership for the definition and development of test plans and system documentation.
• Troubleshoots existing information systems to identify errors or deficiencies and develop solutions.
• Assists in the development of policies and procedures for production monitoring, scheduling, restart and recovery procedures. Responsible for the development of policies and procedures for production monitoring, scheduling, restart and recovery procedures for an application failure.

What your background should look like

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field, or equivalent work experience.
• Typically has eight (8) or more years of IT work experience in programming and, specifically with SAP system analysis and programming.
• Requires a broad level of understanding surrounding information systems and software architecture standards.
• Six (6) or more years of extensive experience designing and implementing SAP (Native) HANA Solutions, SAP Business Warehouse (BW), and BW on HANA solutions
• Hands-on experience creating Graphical Calculation Views, Table Function, SQLScript Procedure, HANA Security, Schema-mapping, etc. Experience building hybrid data models using BW and HANA artifacts.
• Ability to write complex ABAP routines, AMDP procedures to extract and transform terabytes of data. Experience with Logistic data extraction is a must.
• Hands-on experience creating Composite Provider, Advanced DSO, BEx Query, OpenHub, Generic DataSource, etc.
• Experience with different reporting tools, including BusinessObjects Web Intelligence, Power BI, QlikView, etc.
• Knowledge of XS Advanced architecture (HANA 2.0), HDI container, Cross-container, and Cross-schema data access, Synonym, User-Provided service, SQL Privilege would be highly preferred.
