Senior Scientist, Drug Discovery

The Position

Arrowhead Pharma is seeking four skilled and motivated synthetic organic chemists with experience in medicinal chemistry background.

Responsibilities

• Design and timely synthesize organic molecules to support oligonucleotide discovery projects
• Scale-up target structures to support internal and external studies
• Review research papers and intellectual property literature in support of SAR of oligonucleotide drug design and delivery
• Track progress against project timelines, generate regular status updates and communicate progress and issues to management

Requirements:

• Ph.D. in organic chemistry or medicinal chemistry or a related discipline with 3 to 5 years of experience or a M.S. degree with at least 10 years of experience in organic synthesis in the pharmaceutical industry
• Experience in oligonucleotide drug delivery and discovery is preferred
• Experience with solid-phase synthesis is a plus
• Highly innovative and creative in problem solving
• Self-motivated with strong working ethics
