Senior Scientist, LNP Process Development

Position Summary

FL85 is seeking a highly talented and motivated individual to help develop and optimize lipid nanoparticle (LNP) formulation processes. The candidate will be a key contributor to the development of the FL85 platform, enabling the production of LNPs across multiple scales. The successful candidate will have deep expertise in LNP formulation and/or process development, as well as excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, optimize, and scale-up processes for LNP production for a wide variety of LNP compositions and cargos
• Identify critical process parameters that enable successful process scale-up and scale-out
• Support the production and characterization of LNPs for preclinical studies
• Manage collaborations with internal and external partners, ensuring stakeholder alignment and delivering against tight timelines
• Collaborate with scientists across the organization to advance company objectives and understanding of LNP function
• Thoroughly document results in electronic lab notebooks and present findings to cross-functional teams

Qualifications

• BS (+10 years experience ), MS (+8 years experience ), or PhD (+2 years experience) in an engineering or life sciences discipline
• Expertise in the formulation and/or process development of LNPs, liposomes, polymeric nanoparticles, or similar is required
• Experience with statistical software packages and application of design of experiment (DOE) principles for formulation and process development
• Experience with large scale LNP process equipment (mixers, pumps, TFF, etc)
• Familiarity with common LNP analytical characterization techniques
• A strong team player with the ability to work both independently and on cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Highly self-motivated and comfortable delivering against challenging commitments
• Excellent organizational and communication skills
