Senior Scientist/Senior Research Engineer

The Senior Scientist/Research Engineer will be responsible for the design and execution of experiments that enable Ex-Utero embryo development. The successful candidate will be part of the Device Engineering team and will work collaboratively to develop and test novel devices and concepts related to gestational biology and embryology. This position reports to the Director of Innovation Engineering.

**This position is in Dallas TX, with minimal periodic (<10%) travel anticipated. Relocation assistance is available.**

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Independently design and execute experiments utilizing novel prototypes and platforms
• Generate and interpret results to answer fundamental embryo development and gestational biology questions
• Utilize experimental findings to guide the team towards system modifications and improvements
• Stay-up-to-date with relevant scientific literature and apply the same to drive breakthrough ideas and pathways
• Scientifically motivated with the ability to design, conduct, and analyze experiments (Design of Experiments)

Preferred Skills/Abilities:

• Experience with different 3D cell culture systems 
• Embryo development/embryology, tissue-based technology, hydrogels/extracellular matrix (ECM) processing, organ-on-a-chip/organoids, bioreactor systems, and/or gestation biology

Required Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree from an ABET accredited program in science or engineering related fields such as biomedical/bioengineering, biology, biophysics/biochemistry, biomaterials etc.
• 4+ years of industry or highly applied experience developing for clinical, diagnostic, pharma, or biomanufacturing systems and across duties, preferably in Research & Development. MS/PhD/DVM degrees may substitute for some industry/applied experience. 
• Self-motivated and collaborative, with excellent time management
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
