Role Snapshot

Using servant leadership and leading by example, this Senior Scrum Master will coach between two and three Scrum teams in Scrum practices including self-organization and transparency while improving the adoption of Scrum within the team and the organization. These teams will be focused on Data Migration from our on-prem to our Azure Cloud (GCC High) environment.

    • Guide and coach the Scrum team and leadership on how to use Scrum practices and values.
    • Provide framework for addressing unplanned work and outside distractions.
    • Facilitate Scrum Events such as Daily Scrum, Sprint Planning, Sprint Review, and Sprint Retrospective as needed.
    • Identify important issues and risks and recommend options for continuous improvement of Scrum practices.
    • Look ahead to identify and facilitate the resolution of dependencies and large work efforts by bringing together the Scrum team, business unit owners and leadership.
    • Coach the Product Owner on tracking these pieces in the Product Backlog and communicating progress and plans to stakeholders.
    • Identify opportunities to build competencies in Agile/Scrum practices and knowledge and participate in those sessions.
  • Want to focus on continuous Improvement and innovation:

    • Drive innovation by developing/acquiring new techniques, tasks, tools and applying them at the team level.
    • Assist the team with identifying team metrics to be tracked and reviewed on a continual basis.
    • Share insights and opportunities for continuous improvement with other Scrum Masters during communities of practice discussions.
    • Maintain and review processes, standards, and templates that are required artifacts or deliverables of the team.
  • Have a desire to promote healthy communication:

    • Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or judgement and with an emphasis on healing and problem solving.
    • Facilitate getting the work done without pressuring, assigning, or dictating work.
    • Facilitate discussion, decision making and conflict resolution.

Minimum Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship is required for this position due to Department of Defense restrictions.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related field or equivalent post high school and/or related work experience.
  • 1 or more years of related work experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5 or more years of experience as a Scrum Master.
  • Experience in Agile / Scrum development methodologies and tools (Jira / Jenkins / TFS).
  • Experience with successful SDLC (Software Delivery Life Cycle) processes including quality assurance and release management.
  • Experience with Cloud (Azure) / DevOps / continuous deployment / integration processes and tools.
  • Experience with test-driven development and test automation.
  • Scrum Master certification (CSM, A-CSM, CSP, CST or equivalent from agile certifying organization).
  • Proven leadership skills with ability to motivate others and work collaboratively with teams.

Salary Range$90,000 ~ $120,000The base pay offered for this position may vary within the posted range based on your job-related knowledge, skills, experience and may fall outside the posted range.
