POSITION OVERVIEW
The Senior Scrum Master is responsible for enabling a program of work across multiple teams to succeed. The Senior Scrum Master also elevates our agile practices across the enterprise. He or She is a master facilitator of business and IT teams, manages dependencies and release plans across teams, and leads improvements to our enterprise Agile practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serves as a delivery manager across multiple teams working toward a common goal. Facilitates business and IT team meetings and ceremonies that require collaborative planning. Monitors execution through scrum of scrum meetings and leads process improvements identified across multiple team retrospectives.
- Streamlines the initiative's governance processes (e.g. meetings, objectives, attendees).
- Identifies, documents, communicates, and monitors cross- team deliverables from inception through release.
- Apply domain knowledge to efficiently facilitate meetings and capture outcomes, understand impediments, mitigate risks, and manage dependencies within the team and with other teams. Domain knowledge within assigned domain consists of the following:
- Business process and which application functions enable it
- List of team's applications from application inventory and which technology stack they are built upon
- Software development process, including software deployment and DEVOPS processes
- System interactions with systems that integrate with their team's applications
- Understanding of the infrastructure environments and infrastructure processes
- Coordinates project procurement process (products and services required by third parties).
- Works closely with Steering Committee and Product owners to clarify initiative program goals and aggregates cost and time to complete each roadmap item. Supports the Product Owner and Development Manager to align and cascade executive level initiative goals to quarterly goals.
- Tracks and communicates progress of goal attainment and release readiness.
- Leverages agile metrics to inspect and adapt with delivery teams to constantly improve performance and responsiveness. Communicates, tracks, resolves, and escalates impediments/blockers.
- Leads organizational change and transformation, drawing on change management and systems thinking. Follows Agile PMO practices. Contributes to the development of new Scaled Agile practices. Trains new team members on all NBME® IT practices. Mentors team members in various areas of Agile and serves as an Agile proponent throughout organization. Guides other scrum masters to experiment with new agile practices.
- Delivers virtual and classroom training programs on NBME's Agile practices and Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) Tools for new and existing business and IT staff.
- Coaches Product Owners and other Scrum Masters on principles such as self-organization, cross functionality, transparency.
- Assists in the recruitment and on-boarding of temporary IT staff. Acts as first level support to temporary staff to ensure understanding of and alignment to IT processes.
- Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.

- Demonstrated Lean-Agile Practitioner
- Must be a creative and critical thinker that is able to confidently express ideas in an articulate, concise manner.
- Knowledge and / or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pair Programming, Automated Testing, Retro Games, DevOps and CICD.
Experience
5 years of relevant experience as a Scrum Master working across multiple teams
Education
- Bachelor's degree
- Preferred but not required: Certified scrum professional (CSP), Scrum Alliance/Scrum.org Certified Scrum Master or equivalent, Scrum Alliance Certified Scrum Practitioner or equivalent
