Job Description:

The Digital Platform Modernization Delivery team within the Sun Life Chief Technology Office (CTO) is looking for an individual who can perform and lead teams as a Scrum Master/Senior Project Manager.

In this role the individual will support projects and BAU work for various platforms supporting infrastructure and Cloud services. This work supports our Cloud-first strategy and will introduce new tools and features to more effectively deliver solutions supporting enterprise business goals.

What will you do?

• Responsible for leading the planning, execution, management, and reporting of technology solutions that are high-quality, innovative, efficient, and compliant.
• Supports the maturity of agile practices, facilitates team efficiency, coaches high-performing teams, and removes obstacles to deliver quality solutions.
• Works as a servant leader, accountable for establishing and coaching agile practices, and shares responsibility for delivery of assigned initiatives.
• Proactively identifies and removes impediments to ensure consistent velocity, predictability, and flow of work.
• Builds and expands relationships within the team, release train engineers, and other supporting teams to deliver business value.
• Tracks goals, quality, and productivity metrics, and continuously improves these measures.
• Manages governance, reporting, and monitoring activities as defined by the delivery framework.
• Provides guidance and mentorship to less experienced team members, ensures alignment with project goals, and fosters a continuous learning environment.

What do you need to succeed?

• 5 to 10 years of progressive experience as a Scrum Master / Project Manager working in Agile, Scrum, Kanban, and Waterfall environments
• 5 to 7 years of experience with implementing medium to large range of technology/business projects; including core infrastructure (data center, cloud computing , mainframes, distributed server environments, web-hosting services, desktop, network, telephony, unified communication, security, etc).
• Technically minded problem solver
• Certified Scrum Master (CSM) or SAFe certified
• Certified Project Management professional designation (PMP) ideal

Preferred Skills:

• Exceptional interpersonal skills, with an emphasis on relationship management and team building
• Ability to manage ambiguity effectively and help project team members work with ambiguity
• Effectively and concisely communicate project and technical information to provide comprehensive, concise recommendations to management
• Strong Influencing skills and the ability to manage difficult situations to resolution
• Strong facilitation skills to conduct successful meetings / ceremonies
• Ability to create flexible project plans for complex projects with many dependencies
• Action oriented, self-motivated, and solutions driven
• Experience managing projects which involve 3rd party managed services as well as leading offshoring and global projects.
• Ability to straddle between Agile and Waterfall Methodologies yet maintain focus on delivering on value outcomes identified by leadership
• Strong working knowledge of MS Project, Office suite, Collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, SharePoint, ServiceNow, Planview

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted. It may vary depending on the work location of the successful candidate or other factors. In addition to Base Pay, eligible Sun Life employees participate in various incentive plans, payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance.
