The Enterprise Cloud Organization is seeking a motivated, energetic, results oriented individual with strong technical and leadership skills for the role of a Senior Scrum Master to support the Hartford's journey to the Cloud.
Remote candidates will be considered for this position.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Ensures Scrum Team adheres to Scrum principles and best practices
- Enables and helps those outside the development team understand which of their interactions with the development team are helpful and which aren't. Helps everyone change these interactions to maximize the value created by the development team.
- Understands product planning in an inspect and adapt environment, and ensures the Product Owner knows how to arrange the Product Backlog to maximize value
- Provides information regarding team health: people, process, progress and overall satisfaction to Technology and Business Leaders
- Coaches the team members to practice effective Scrum
- Removes impediments for the team and escalate appropriately
- Insulates development team from distractions or disruption
- Coaches the Product Owner, Development Team, Technology and Business Leaders on Scrum values, principles, and best practices
- Partners with the Product Owner, Release Train Engineer and Business leadership to form execution delivery plans and manage progress
- Assess the Agile Maturity of the team and organization and coaching the team to higher levels of maturity, at a pace that is sustainable and comfortable for the team and organization
- Facilitates Product Increment Planning
- Identifies and resolves gaps in skills, processes, and resources
- Build a trust and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of blame, retribution, or being judged, with an emphasis of healing and problem solving.
- Provide all support to the team using a servant leadership style whenever possible, and leading by example
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Computer Science or related discipline
- First level Scrum Master certification (CSM, PSM I)
- AWS Cloud Practitioner Certification is a plus
- 3 plus years' experience as a Scrum Master with at least two years with a team that was diligently applying Agile principles, practices, and theory
- Good skills and knowledge of servant leadership, facilitation, situational awareness, conflict resolution, continual improvement, empowerment, and increasing transparency
- Must be able to effectively communicate with both technical and non-technical users at all levels of the organization
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to present confidently before a large audience
- Knowledge and or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, BDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Testing, Pairing and Automated Testing
Compensation
The listed annualized base pay range is primarily based on analysis of similar positions in the external market. Actual base pay could vary and may be above or below the listed range based on factors including but not limited to performance, proficiency and demonstration of competencies required for the role. The base pay is just one component of The Hartford's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include short-term or annual bonuses, long-term incentives, and on-the-spot recognition. The annualized base pay range for this role is:
$104,080 - $156,120
