Responsibilities:

• Agile project leadership:
• Guide the Team on using scrum & agile practices and methodologies

• Facilitate transparency, inspection and adaptation
• Lead daily scrum, sprint review, and planning meetings in a way that ensures full team engagement
• Team leadership:
• Remove impediments (e.g., cultural barriers, logistic challenges)
• Foster close cooperation, self-organization and growth within the team

• Facilitate communication and collaboration inside and outside the team
• Ensure the team is fully functional and productive and shield them from external interference
• Build a trusting and safe environment where problems can be raised without fear of punishment
• Supports the Product Owner:
• Support goal definition and backlog management, assist team in understanding need for clear and concise backlog items

• Aid in early identification and communication of risks and issues
• Facilitate stakeholder collaboration as needed or requested

Skills and Competencies:

• Ability to coach team on agile practices and ensure adherence to agile methodology to deliver max business value on time
• Strong communication skills with ability to effectively deliver complex messages and teach new concepts
• Ability to quickly analyze and resolve conflicts - strong mediator
• Confident and skilled at navigating the team through roadblocks to allow committed work to be completed within the sprint
• Brings a high-energy and passionate outlook to the job and can influence those around her/him

• Able to build a sense of trust and rapport that creates a comfortable & effective workplace
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment
• Ability to drive and effectively manage complex R&D initiatives beyond the scope of typical scrum master responsibilities

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Business or related field

• 5-7 years of experience in Agile software development, in a Scrum Master or similar role.
• Scrum Master certification preferred
• Experience with software development in a regulated field preferred
