PartsTech is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in software test automation, a passion for quality assurance and a proven track record of developing robust automated testing frameworks. As a senior SDET, you will work closely with engineers, engineering, product managers and other QA engineers to ensure the highest quality of our software products.

Key Responsibilities

Software Test Automation

• Design, develop and maintain automated test frameworks and tools using Java and/or Javascript-based test frameworks
• Implement, promote, advocate for the best practices of Agile Software testing across PartsTech Engineering
• Develop and create simple and nimble test automation frameworks that can be used across the PartsTech engineering teams
• Advocate code quality and maintainability through regular code reviews and refactoring
• Make informed decisions on what to automate and what not to 
• Create and maintain reliable automated tests for user interfaces and backend APIs and database schemas
• Where needed, create tools to improve the software delivery with high quality
• Stay up-to-date with best practices and emerging technologies in software testing
• Identify, document and track software defects
• Perform software testing to ensure it meets specifications
• Continuously improve the strategies and processes to enhance product quality
• Actively participate in code reviews and  provide constructive feedback to team members from test side of the code
• Advocate for best practices of software development utilizing Test Driven Development (TDD) and Behavioural Driven Development (BDD) methodologies

Mentoring and Collaboration

• Collaborate with engineers, engineering and product managers in prioritizing test automation
• Actively participate in agile development processes including Sprint Planning, daily Scrum meetings, backlog grooming and sprint retrospectives
• Analyze test results and provide detailed report to stakeholders
• Mentor junior SDETs and STEs on the team on whitebox testing methodologies
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand product requirements and design comprehensive test plans

Tools and Frameworks

• Expert understanding and hands-on-experience with test frameworks like Playwright or equivalent for UI testing, Postman or equivalent for API testing
• Expert understanding and hands-on-experience with using third party APIs like JIRA, TestRail, GitHub, … for building tools and frameworks
• Experience using load testing frameworks like Gatling, JMeter, …
• Experience building CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GithubActions, … or equivalent
• Experience  with AWS technologies and K8S is a plus
• Experience using BDD tools like Jbehave, Cucumber, …

Required Skills and Qualifications

Technical Skills

• Proficiency in Typescript, Javascript
• Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
• Strong understanding of developing software using TDD and certify builds using automated tests utilizing CI/CD practices
• Experience with AWS services and cloud-native development environments
• Working knowledge of Kubernetes (K8S) is a plus
• Experience building reliable and scalable test frameworks

Education and Experience

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of professional software test automation experience
• Proven track record of delivering high-quality software solutions utilizing agile whitebox testing 

Compensation: €47,000 - €75,000 Annual Base. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location, with job titles potentially encompassing multiple career levels. The actual base pay for the successful candidate will depend on various factors, including location, transferable or job-related skills, work experience, relevant training, business needs, and market demands. Please note that the base salary range may be subject to change.
