Your Role and Responsibilities
As a Senior Software developer you will be part of a talented team working on the next generation of networking products within IBM’s Software Defined Networking (SDN) unit. Your job will be to contribute to the design and implementation of advanced networking products discuss software architecture and work on complex hybrid cloud networking problems. As a senior engineer you will be expected to mentor and guide other engineers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 7+ years of professional development experience with one or more of these languages: C C++ Golang
• Experience using Git version control
• Good understanding of the Linux networking stack
• 2+ years of experience in networking with experience in some of the following technologies ISIS OSPF BGP MPLS LDP MPLS-SR LLDP encapsulation formats like VXLAN Geneve GRE IPSec

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Experience on Golang
• Experience in agile development methodologies
• Experience in designing and implementing complex networking systems
• Experience with public clouds (AWS Azure IBM Cloud GCP…) and container-based technologies
• Experience in microservices architectures cloud-native applications and API development (REST event-oriented)
• Knowledge in monitoring and observability technologies (Streaming telemetry Kafka IPFIX/Netflow SNMP Prometheus… )
