Overview:
The Senior SEO Manager leads and executes SEO strategy across the ministry for Mercy hospitals, specialty hospitals, physician practices, physician profiles, and service-related pages. The candidate will possess advanced knowledge and demonstrated experience directing strategic digital efforts across the three primary facets of Search Engine Optimization: technical SEO, local SEO, and content optimization. The Senior SEO Manager will lead in supporting ministry digital strategy initiatives, collaborating with multiple business units across MTS (IT), Product Experience, Consumer Analytics & Integrated Marketing to implement SEO best practices and improve search visibility for Mercy digital properties.
Qualifications:
- Education & Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in a product management/SEO role.
- Experience with a customer-centric approach to SEO - improving user quality while achieving business goals.
- Experience with managing the execution of multiple cross-functional initiatives at any given time.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with writing SEO specs for developers and clearly articulating customer value.
- Experience with technical SEO:
- Complex crawl & log file analysis.
- Site information/URL architecture.
- Web vitals, site speed optimization.
- Advanced structured data implementation.
- Experience with SEO crawling software (e.g. Botify, Deepcrawl) and rank tracking (e.g., Conductor, Brightedge).
- High-Level Job Requirements:
- Accountable as the in-house subject matter expert for SEO and the technical optimization of Mercy websites.
- Responsible for developing an automated strategy for measuring and monitoring ministry website performance, including identifying KPIs that demonstrate the impact of optimization.
- Must utilize strong team collaboration skills and translate complex and technical concepts to marketing leadership and stakeholders.
- Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Lead technical, content, and local Search Engine Optimization (SEO) strategy and implementation for Mercy, including overseeing the technological development of new web functionality.
- Lead optimization projects through the entire digital experience workflow, including keyword research, content strategy, sitemap development, information architecture, content development, redirect implementation, and QA.
- Serve as product owner and system administrator for enterprise SEO platforms, including SEMRush, Moz, Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, etc.
- Partner with digital patient experience leadership, developers, UX/UI, and digital production specialists to deploy new web functionality optimized for technical SEO and optimal site performance.
- Develop business and technical requirements for improving SEO health and performance across Mercy websites.
- Proactively develop and maintain SEO enterprise development roadmap and work with MTS stakeholders and marketing leadership to prioritize and implement necessary enhancements to drive continual site optimization and improved performance.
- Develop standards, systems, and best practices for optimized content creation, distribution, and maintenance.
- Use Adobe Analytics reporting tools and other web analytics and SEO tools.
- Lead SEO training and consultation for marketing stakeholders, service line leadership, and digital teams.
- Oversee information architecture (IA) and site design recommendations supporting SEO.
- Identify technical SEO issues and deficiencies, implement solutions promptly, and suggest process improvements to improve overall efficiency and enable automation.
- Oversee navigation and conversion analysis for Mercy websites.
- Partner with Yext to optimize online listing visibility and conversion for Mercy's online listings using SEO best practices.
- Perform keyword research, content optimization consultation, and website audits for SEO best practice compliance and generate customized strategies to increase search visibility and user experience.
- Participates in Product Team project activities or other duties as assigned, such as attending project meetings, testing, developing or reviewing documentation and best practice procedures, supporting pilot programs or implementation, etc.
- Work with designers, analysts, and engineers to identify and solve SEO problems.
