Senior Server Engineer

We are in search of an experienced and talented Senior Software Engineer to contribute their subject matter expertise on our title, Gold Fish Casino as well as across our Austin Studio. The ideal candidate will know the backend of a server like the back of their own hand.

Essential Job Functions:  

• Multiple Languages / Language Agnostic / Multiple Technologies & Platforms 
• Ability to Architect Solutions 
• Ability to learn and adapt to new programming languages 
• Ability to work with multiple languages and assist with transition as we continue to adapt to new technologies. 
• Continue to innovate and redefine our tech stack. 
• Work with a team in an Agile environment to design and implement game features and core functionality. 
• Perform and assist in testing and debugging efforts 
• Monitor game performance and error logs 
• Use Git on a daily basis to manage source code 
• Perform code review for fellow engineers 
• Design, implement, and maintain tools for game administration 
• Research and utilize third party APIs (Facebook, Upsight, etc) 
• Mentor junior engineers and assist them with feature development and debugging 
• Identify and refactor problematic areas of codebase 
• Create scripts and tools to improve workflows for both backend and other teams

Level and XP Requirements: 

• Experience with two or more of the following: C#, C++, PHP, Node.js, Unity, Server-Based APIs 
• 3 - 7 Years' Experience 
• Experience working on backend systems 
• Strong object oriented development background (C++ or other C-style langages). 
• Experience with Linux from the command line and using common utilities (grep, tail, etc) 
• Experience with NoSQL databases (Couchbase, Memcached, Redis, MongoDB, etc) 
• Professional experience working in an Agile/Scrum/XP environment 

Bonus Points:  

• Mobile game development 
• Experience with micro-services 
• Analytics driven development / experience 
• AWS experience/Cloud development preferred. 
• Node.Js preferred
