We have team members located across the United States spanning multiple time zones. This means we put in extra effort to make sure we connect and collaborate in ways that make sense for us. We know how valuable the flexibility of remote work is for our employees. Due to the nature of this role, we would expect someone to be onsite in Beverly Hills,CA
We know that personal connection is the foundation for the great work we do together. In order to build those relationships with team members in other cities, we meet with coworkers in person two times a year at a full company offsite and a departmental offsite. These are great opportunities to meet the people you work with every day and to do some of the work that is much more difficult to do virtually.
What The Role Is
Babylist is looking for a seasoned Senior Showroom Manager to manage our brand new, first of its kind, flagship showroom! Whether you're an expecting parent, a grandparent, or a friend to someone having a baby, this is going to be one of the most fun places to be. Located in the heart of Beverly Hills, this unique showroom experience will welcome guests to walk room-by-room to see, touch, and test our vast array of products for life with a baby. This is a fun and immersive opportunity for our users to add products to their registry or stop by our retail shop to pick up curated gifts. As Showroom Manager, you will have the unique and exciting opportunity to bring our strategic vision to life by balancing the onsite operations and communication back to the broader Babylist team. In addition to leading the day to day operations, this person will offer critical feedback and learnings to our leadership team on what’s working, where we can elevate, and what customers are saying. Most importantly, they will help create an experience that brings our brand to life and delights users.
Who You Are
- You have 5+ years retail management experience from labor planning and training to inventory control, and customer service. Bonus if you have experience scaling during rapid growth.
- You have opened a new retail location or helped support the transition of an E-commerce brand to a physical site
- You have 3+ years of people management experience.
- You are an effective communicator and leader for staff and direct reports.You have managed a variety of personnel and have instituted organizational change to improve culture.
- You have scaled a team and created an operation that runs well without your immediate oversight.
- You are forward thinking, anticipating problems and creating sustainable solutions from rough ideas and can prioritize without being overwhelmed
- Proficiency with Inventory Management platforms and POS systems
- Production and pop-up experience a plusÂ
- Passionate about experience-first events, spaces and experiencesÂ
- Experience supporting custom fabrication, social-first moments, signage, installationsÂ
- Experience hosting talent, influencers, press, investors, partners and other notable visitors for walkthroughs, events, and others.Â
- Experiential-first approach of in-store elements including staff training, visual merchandiser, guest flow, product integration and more.  Â
How You Will Make An Impact
- You will translate company-wide goals into specific operational metrics and monitor performance with the team and adjust labor/processes to achieve goals
- Be the voice of the showroom to the broader company, sharing real time feedback to inform the overall experience as it relates to company strategy
- Help the leadership team understand what’s resonating with customers and where we should adapt, change, or maintainÂ
- Collaborate with all teams within Babylist to plan and execute new tactics that help create brand awareness, customer enthusiasm, and long term success for the business
- Monitor and control expenses, including payroll and operating costs
- Maintain showroom appearance and merchandising standards
- Ensuring insights and opportunities to improve customer experience are shared with the company
- Continuously seek opportunities to remove barriers and friction points for customers
- Handle customer complaints and resolve issues
- Build and lead a team of service-minded Registry Consultants and Sales AssociatesÂ
- In partnership with the people team, you will own the showroom culture and manage people responsibilities including: hiring, terminations, coaching, training, recognition and rewards, scheduling, performance evaluation and management, discipline, addressing employee concerns and staff productivity.
- First point of contact onsite for vendors, office supplies, internet, landscaping, delivery partners, etc.

Babylist takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location. U.S. locations are categorized into one of four zones based on a cost of labor index for that geographic area.Â
A wide range of factors are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; and other business and organizational needs. Exact starting pay will be determined based on skills and experience as well as location. We hold two compensation reviews annually to review pay for performance and market and run an equity analysis to ensure our pay practices are fair and unbiased.
A reasonable estimate for the current range is $125,000 - $135,000.
These ranges may be modified in the future.
