GNV is the world's largest chewing gum plant making brands our consumers love including Extra, Orbit, 5 Gum, Eclipse and others. The site engineering team is responsible for executing a wide range of projects from small site projects all the way to large new production lines and equipment (making or packing). The senior project engineer is a key role with high visibility in the site and with the regional engineering and regional IE teams. This role develops projects, works to gain project approval, collaborates with engineering, R&D, operations, IE, safety and quality to manage and deliver projects that enable the Mars Wrigley business. The role requires strong technical skills in addition to project management skills. GNV has many exciting master plan projects coming up to grow and re-shape the gum business. What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering
  • 4+ years of experience in engineering and project management. Experience managing projects of $500,000 or more.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Bachelor's in Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with food products or consumer products in making/processing areas with liquids/pastes/gums or dry material handling/mixing systems.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Technical leadership - understanding operational needs and devising creative, efficient, robust technical solutions to deliver on business needs. The role doesn't immediately accept the standard solutions, but considers new/different/improved technology along with proven standard solutions. This requires a curious mind and a passionate pursuit of robust, innovative solutions.
  • Project Management - Embracing and driving excellent project management using the Mars Wrigley Engineering Work Process. This includes detailed safety reviews, developing and refining the scope and budget, balancing scope adjustments with project success criteria and timelines, heavy communication to the project team and with all stakeholders, flexibility to change and sound financial discipline.
  • System Ownership - ownership of the site asset health check process or a similar system to deliver results across the site and build site capability (both people and equipment).
