Autonomic was founded in 2016 and acquired in 2018. Autonomic is a wholly owned subsidiary of Ford Motor Company.

Our mission is to empower Autonomic teams to reliably run production systems. Our customers are primarily our internal engineering teams, however the solutions we build often have requirements from non-technical teams.

This is a technical leadership role. 

The responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Use your knowledge, wisdom and interpersonal skills to address design, implementation and operational challenges, and do so in a way that makes your input welcome by others.
• Design, deploy, and maintain reliable distributed systems
• Be a Kubernetes expert.
• Be a source of Kubernetes expertise for other teams, providing education and training in various forms.
• Keep abreast of Kubernetes features, bugs and associated Kubernetes releases pertinent to Autonomic.
• Scale our cloud infrastructure to support our growing ecosystem
• Adhere to industry-standard security best practices
• Write automation, monitoring, diagnostic and debugging tools
• Participate in our on-call rotation
• Mentor less experienced engineers

• Strong experience in provisioning/ managing Kubernetes clusters
• 4+ years of experience in managing Cloud services - AWS, GCP etc.
• Expertise in infrastructure automation
• Strong technical disposition for cloud infrastructure, observability, and performance
• Instincts for identifying and mitigating risks
• Fervent attention to detail
• Superb written and verbal communication skills

• Terraform automation experience
• Proven experience in a programming and/or scripting language (e.g. python, go, java, ruby)

• Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science or related
• 5+ years professional/production experience
