Department Overview

The Land Mobile Radio, Supply Chain NPI organization is responsible for defining, developing, qualifying, and implementing manufacturing solutions for new products. The Supply Chain NPI organization works closely with Development Engineering, Product Management, and Global Operations to develop manufacturing processes, and implement them into the Motorola Solutions manufacturing network.
Job Description

In This Role You Will:

• Generate programs for SMT(Surface Mount Technology) machines( FUJI), work with stencil vendors, develop PCBA reflow oven profiles.

• Mange prototype builds of two way public safety radios.

• Manage routine maintenance for all SMT equipment.

• Train operators on basic operation of equipment, including screen printer, SPI machine, SMT machine, reflow oven and AOI machine.

• Assist in the new process development and implementation for the assembly and test of two way radios.

• Knowledge and experience with DFM techniques to help facilitate manufacturability of PCBAs and Assemblies. Generate DFx reports to improve manufacturability of new products and reduce process variations.

• Present technical updates to senior management on product and process development.

• Direct level management of engineers, equipment technicians and direct labor operators .

• Support suppliers in designing, fabrication of assembly fixtures and electro mechanical test fixtures.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as an electrical engineer or a mechanical engineer.

• Experience in SMT (Surface Mount Technology) machine programing preferred.

• Preferred experience with high density fine pitch components – BGA, LGA, QFN, 0201.

• Working knowledge of Google Office Software (Sheets, Documents, Slides)

• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work at various levels of management including internal and external organizations.

• Strong communications and interpersonal skills while being able to work with multiple internal stakeholders to drive positive business results.

• Ability to summarize and clearly communicate project status, on complex technical risks/issues, and team recommendations for work partners as well as senior leaders

• Flexibility in work hours and willingness to travel up to 25%

Basic Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering

• Experience working in a Manufacturing or Design environment required.
