About the role:

OLIVER is a global marketing agency that exclusively designs, builds and runs bespoke in-house agencies and marketing ecosystems for brands. Our skilled creative talents are dedicated to high-profile clients and are based either onsite, near-site, or offsite in our hubs.   

We are looking for a proactive and strategic Senior Social Strategist to help lead a new social team for some of the biggest brands in the country. You should be comfortable presenting key insights and recommendations to the client and sharing your opinions with team members of all levels. In this role, you will have the opportunity to contribute strategically and even creatively. You will be on top of trends in content and culture and ready to advise on social media best practices. This role requires you to work closely with the client and also engage with consumers and audiences, look for trends and insights, and actively monitor and analyze competitors' social media platforms. You will represent the brand's voice, monitor conversations, post content, and manage the daily operations of various social challenges.  

Our ideal candidate will consistently bring best-in-class recommendations to our client’s brand team, while paving the way for other Community Managers and key client stakeholders to develop, implement, track, and optimize content across each social platform. This is a role for someone who likes to work closely with creative teams in a fast-moving environment. 

What you will be doing:
  • Use social listening tools to report on a number of key brands as well as create queries for ad hoc requests
  • Create creative briefs based on content performance, brand needs, and audience and cultural insights
  • Provide reports to help guide our client teams through a narrative that includes what happened, why it happened, and the resulting data-driven recommendations
  • Confidently present reports to clients, and be the point of contact for any data or social media listening related inquiries
  • Create and provide ad hoc reports surrounding key initiatives or competitors
  • Guide team of Community Managers on reporting and brief creation
  • Research, create, and share POVs on updates to the ever changing social media landscape as well as large cultural shifts or trends
  • Help build, grow, and manage online communities for our client’s key consumer brands
  • Develop community strategy, engagement, and growth plan
  • Entertain people with your writing across different tones of voice
  • Keep up to date with the latest social trends & tools and bringing fresh ideas on how to use them
  • Create timely and culturally relevant content optimized for each platform and audience
  • Monitoring platforms for content opportunities and initiating conversations
  • Champion creativity and deliver excellent customer experiences though content planning
  • Work closely with the onsite studio to develop best in class content
  • Partner with the client’s media agency to understand campaign performance and opportunities to optimize creative
  • Manage and review the work of creators to ensure consistent processes are followed
  • Act as the brand guardian to ensure all work produced is faithful to the client’s brand guidelines
  • Adoption and use of the brand’s voice – responding to and engaging with the user community
  • Work closely with the SEO (Search Engine Optimization) Manager to understand insights that may be discovered SEO reports and monitoring
  • Develop social media content calendar
  • Repost paid advertising and influencer content to owned pages
  • Work with CRC (Consumer Response Center) and pass on/escalate consumers that require CRC attention
What you need to be great in this role:
  • 5+ years of experience in social media or community management 
  • 5+ years of experience working in an advertising agency
  • 3+ years of experience in a Social Strategist role
  • Experience using analytical/social listening tools for reporting and to gather insights 
  • Ability to create impactful, data-driven reports with strategic thinking in a consumable presentation with an emphasis on narrative, insights, and recommendations
  • Experience conducting consumer insights research
  • Comfortable presenting interesting and high-energy reports both internally and externally
  • Comfortable balancing multiple work streams including multiple reporting deadlines
  • Able to advocate for the role of analytics and research, trumpeting the importance of data-based proof and the power of data-based insights
  • Self-driving with a track record of an entrepreneurial approach
  • Experience growing and engaging a community and building a significant follower base on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn 
  • Passion for delivering on-brand and on-brief social communications 
  • Pro-active planning and leadership of creative community initiative 
  • Understanding of how to integrate with a client-side team whilst maintaining a top-tier agency service 
  • Ability to learn and understand consumer experience with client’s products/services/promotions 
  • Expertise in brand safety on social platforms 
  • Great sense of humor and creativity yet serious minded 
  • Content creation skills (blogs, tweets, gifs, memes/other visuals) 
  • Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving skills 
  • Ability to recognize superior design and maintain a consistent aesthetic 
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills 
  • Knowledge of consumer-packaged goods
