Job Description

 

Q2 is seeking a Software Delivery Engineer to help provide industry-leading uptime and exceptional end-to-end banking and lending services to nearly 20 million users nationally. As a Software Delivery Engineer, you will assist in introducing new processes, tools, and methodologies to balance needs throughout the software development life cycle, from coding and deployment to maintenance and updates.

You will be working full stack to build a framework of integrated systems and processes to make the configuration, management, deployment, and support of the Q2 platform faster, easier, and safer. You are a force multiplier empowering users, engineers, and clients to do more, effectively!

As a Software Delivery Engineer, you will help build and improve our software development pipelines and processes. You will build and contribute to our software delivery platform. You will create and maintain API-driven tools that support our delivery platforms, allowing our developers greater flexibility, visibility, and power. You will be part of a high-performing team with a vast knowledge of software engineering as well as systems engineering practices.

RESPONSIBILITIES

If you were working for us, here are some of the things you would have done last week:

  • Created adaptive pipeline capability to tailor to individual developer needs
  • Learned GoLang to build an API to capture insights to augment self-service tooling
  • Optimized high availability replication for artifact management
  • Contributed Python code to asynchronously accelerate software deployment 10x
  • Built and maintained a CI/CD pipeline to improve developer agility and code quality
  • Collaborated with development teams to understand their current build and release processes and make recommendations for improvement
  • Leveraged your diverse toolkit to identify and fix software bugs and misconfigurations
  • Engaged in services design and architecture documentation
  • Shared your knowledge with a peer, documented your process, and facilitated lessons learned reviews
  • Created and maintained automation scripts in Bash to facilitate developer workflows, such as unit testing
  • Participated in operational support and on-call escalation for critical systems

EXPERIENCE:

  • Hands-on experience developing production applications in an enterprise environment
  • Fluent with container technologies and supporting tools like Docker
  • Expertise working with CICD tools (e.g. Git, Teamcity, Jenkins, Artifactory)
  • Experience with at least one cloud technology stack, such as: Azure, AWS, or GCP
  • Real-world application of infrastructure automation like Terraform, Ansible, Rundeck
  • Diverse knowledge consuming and creating RESTful APIs
  • Requires little instruction to effectively use programming languages: Python, Go
  • Mastery of Bash scripting
  • High level of proficiency with various Linux distributions
  • Experience distilling problems and troubleshooting issues in a complex environment
  • Hands-on experience migrating from Jenkins to GitLab
  • Familiarity with Agile and DevOps development methodologies
  • Fundamental awareness of common SDLC and release orchestration best practices
  • Understanding of HashiCorp stack (Nomad, Consul, and Vault)
  • Typically requires a Bachelor’s degree in (relevant degree) and a minimum of 8 years of related experience; or an advanced degree with 6+ years of experience; or equivalent related work experience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 2+ years of software development experience
  • 2+ years of systems engineering/administration experience
  • IT changes quickly, we love self-learners!
