Job Description:

Parsons is seeking a talented Senior-Level Software Developer to join our Mission Solutions team! The developer will be part of a diverse team supporting a modeling & simulation (M&S) program.

M&S provides a critical role in our nation's defense by bringing together medium to high fidelity threat system models into an integrated wargame simulation environment. Parsons has supported this program for over ten years, with an established team and excellent customer relationships. Because the need for accurate and integrated modeling, simulation and analysis continues to grow, we are expanding our team to adapt to new challenges.

This developer will be a member of our M&S Architecture and Tools team, which develops application programming interfaces (APIs) to facilitate threat system model interactions in a common environment. The developer will also be involved with graphical user interfaces to support the configuration, execution, visualization, and analysis of complex wargame scenarios.

The developer will work closely with the software quality assurance teams, threat system developers and the user community to produce a reliable and stable environment with regular delivery cycles and software patches. The results produced by this simulation are analyzed to provide direct and timely support to the warfighter.

This position may at times support a Hybrid work environment depending on specific job responsibilities. However, a fully remote work environment is not possible.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Defining requirements and designing solutions for M&S software
  • Participating in technical discussions to assist in near-term and long-term planning
  • Developing software and automated tests using C/C++ and Python on Windows and Linux Platforms
  • Leading technical tasks which could include directing and overseeing the work of less experienced developers
  • Working alongside a team, including mentoring junior software developers on C++, development practices, and software design

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science with 10+ years of experience, with additional education potentially counting for additional years of experience
  • Strong C++ programming skills
  • Experience developing products with regular release cycles
  • Good written and oral communication skills, as well as a desire to work with a highly technical team
  • No clearance required to start, but candidate must be willing and able to obtain and/or maintain a DoD Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance (with poly)

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Software development in a DevOps or DevSecOps environment
  • Experience working with an AGILE software development team
  • Python programming skills including integration of C++ code with Python
  • Mentoring experience
  • Experience working with environmental datasets such as terrain, road networks, atmospheric data, RF propagation data, etc. or signature data

Salary Range:

$113,100.00 - $203,600.00
