Job Description
PurposeÂ
The R&D team is responsible for the design and development of Intelerad’s products. As a member of the InteleViewer team, you are expected to be involved in a variety of different tasks. Project assignment is based upon the best fit between the business needs of the company, your skill set, and your interests.Â
Software Development:Â

Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of major features of our Desktop ViewerÂ
-
Apply professional design and development best-practicesÂ
-
Balance deadlines, functionality, and qualityÂ
-
Lead in the improvement of and adherence to Intelerad’s policies, procedures, and practicesÂ
-
Proficiency in product knowledge and business spaceÂ
-
Understand the constraints of operating in a regulated development environmentÂ
-
Provide guidance to junior developers and help to onboard new team membersÂ
-
Document your work appropriately (requirements, designs, code, training information, etc.)Â
-
Participate in project scoping, requirements gathering, and time estimation with minimal supervision.Â

Strive to complete your deliverables according to requirements and within the time estimates.Â
-
Balance maintenance responsibilities with project deliverables.Â
-
Provide management with accurate and timely data regarding task progress.Â
-
Collaborate with other team members to maximize the team’s productivity and our product’s quality.Â

Stay current with developments in your discipline and share with the team your knowledge and promote opportunities for growth and improvement.Â

Endeavour to improve our procedures and practices.Â

Provide training to new team members and the different support teams.Â
Qualifications
Employment PrerequisitesÂ
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or equivalentÂ
-
5 to 8 years professional experience developing commercial software using:Â
-
“Best practice” object-oriented design and implementation methodologiesÂ
-
Java development - and/or equivalent C++/C# experienceÂ
-
Complex, multi-threaded client/server architecturesÂ
-
Linux / Unix environmentÂ
-
Highly motivated to excel and team oriented

Strong communication skills (verbal, and written)Â
-
Creative thinker and practical problem solverÂ
-
Committed to continual skills growthÂ
Assets
-
Familiarity with our industry’s standards (e.g., DICOM, HL-7, etc.)Â

Experience with a broad range of Java technologies (e.g., JNI, JDBC, etc.)Â

Familiarity with Web Development (e.g. HTTP, REST APIs, Tomcat, Angular)Â
-
Perl and/or shell scriptingÂ

PostgreSQL and/or Sybase ASEÂ

Network applications (client / server)Â

Familiarity with git and Jenkins.Â
