What is the opportunity?

The US Portfolio Management and Client Reporting team is hiring a Senior Software Developer position in Minneapolis. This team is responsible for all internal development related to the RBC Advisory Platform. The Senior Developer will form part of an Agile team of technical developers and application specialists, working on enhancements and major program deliveries with a larger team of business users, business analysts, QA analysts, and project managers. This work will focus primarily on back-end integration, both batch and real-time, between RBC's internal systems and external vendor platforms.

What will you do?

• Designs and implements new solutions with scalability, reusability, efficiency and resiliency.
• Reviews and contributes to requirements/specifications to avoid ambiguity.
• Leads detailed design phases for small to large projects/programs identifying, tracking and resolving technical issues
• Participate in enabling continuous integration and continuous delivery
• Prepare high level and detailed technical specifications for small to medium projects in accordance with PLC, security and architecture documentation objectives.
• Develops criteria for and participates in due diligence evaluation of third party vendors and software

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have

• 5+ years experience as a Software Developer with real-world experience in C# and .NET Core.
• Hands-on experience with: ETL Design and Implementation, SQL table creation and optimization, and SQL query and stored procedure design and development.
• Experience with REST API development, both as a producer and a consumer.
• Experience with DevOps tools, including GitHub, Jenkins, UrbanCode Deploy, etc
• Ability to work closely with business stakeholders to understand requirements

Nice-to-have

• Experience in the financial/wealth management industry
• Experience working with Apache Kafka, or other real-time event streaming platforms
• Experience with Apigee, or other API management tools.
• Java development experience
