Job Summary

Astra is looking for a talented Senior Software Developer that thrives as part of a high-performance team responsible for building highly scalable solutions for Kubernetes Application Data Management. You will design, develop and test managed services to be deployed as containers in Kubernetes and work with various public and private cloud providers.

You are primarily responsible for the architecture, design, development, delivery, and support of products we bring to market. No problem is beneath you, and you are always willing to learn and take on new challenges. As a technical leader, you will mentor other engineers and collaborate closely with other teams. You have an established track record of designing and delivering large, complex systems with minimal supervision.

Job Requirements

Basic Qualifications:

• Deep understanding of cloud technologies, containers, and orchestration frameworks like Kubernetes
• Strong programming skills in Go (or other system-level languages such as C++ or Java back-end development)
• Experience with working in any of the public cloud providers like AWS, Azure or GCP
• Agile software development practices
• Experience in software design and development and a strong understanding of complex concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices
• Linux or other Unix-like Operating System

Preferred Qualifications:

• Familiar with programming in Python
• REST API design and implementation
• Strong oral and written communication skills are essential
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment and demonstrate strong influencing and leadership skills
• Strong aptitude for learning new technologies

Job Responsibilities:

• Apply attained experiences and knowledge in solving problems that are complex in scope requiring in-depth evaluation and interaction with cross-functional teams
• Responsible for handling unstructured tasks and the issues addressed are less defined requiring new perspectives and creative approaches
• To participate in any and/or all phases of the product development cycle from product definition and design, through implementation and test design
• Operate under limited supervision and direction, as this individual can operate, drive results, and set priorities independently
• Successfully articulate designs, problems, and solutions to stakeholders at many levels including customers
• Participate as a proactive contributor and subject matter expert
• Demonstrate favorable results through regular leadership and mentoring others

Education

Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a related field.
