Senior Software Development Engineer

Intelsat US LLC seeks a Senior Software Development Engineer in McLean, VA.
Job Duties:

• Develop Embedded Software for new aircraft hardware Line Replaceable Units (LRUs) and ensuring these units meeting internal industry standards.
• Work with cross functional teams and vendors to ensure incorporating the latest technology and building the best product possible.
• Responsible for full-process development on a variety of different projects involving multiple coding and scripting languages.
• As part of a small (1-6 person) multi-disciplinary engineering team, will have full responsibility for product development from requirements refining to shipping.
• Communicate with members of all engineering disciplines (e.g., Hardware RF Software System Engineering).
• Integrate systems ensuring software compatibility across different Subsystems. Collaborate with Product owner and Software Development to create a development environment for Customers to build and integrate software on.
• Own functionality of inflight connectivity laboratory systems at multiple sites.
• Identify and resolve new development sustaining engineering and/or system integration issues.
• Work in a small project team involving hands-on interaction with product hardware for developing and debugging.

Minimum Requirements: Position requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field, plus 5 years of experience. Requires 5 years of experience using C/C++ or Python programming languages; Embedded Linux; Bootloaders; Microcontrollers; Protocol Analyzer, Digital Storage Oscilloscope, JTAG Debugging tools, and Cross Compiler toolchains; Requires 4 years of experience using TCP/IP Stack and Network technologies; Requires 2 years of experience in Device Drivers; Hardware Abstraction Layer (HAL).
